So, I have been thinking about our wedding guest book. Who REALLY looks at that thing after the wedding anyways? And does it really tell you anything besides who showed up at your wedding? I was thinking of something more interactive and more 21st Century…a video guest book! I was planning to use my Mac Book and use the Photo Booth app for my guest book. Of course, for the less tech-saavy people, I will ask for one of my BMS or GMs to be on-site to help out. This app also has a VIDEO option so my guests can leave record their well wishes and what not. After the wedding, I plan to compile this onto a DVD so i can view it whenever I feel like it.
Do you ladies think this is a good idea?? Thoughts?

I don’t know, I think it’d be a little complicated and that it wouldn’t really be nice to make a bm or gm stay by the computer all night. It also might take awhile for all the guests to get through that and some of them might not want to be videotaped.
There are plenty of nontraditional guest book ideas out there. I actually loved our guest book and I read through it again a few times each year because it is so funny what the guests wrote on their pages! Here’s what we did http://diy.weddingbee.com/topic/diy-guestbook

I think I have exactly what you’re looking for 🙂 http://www.thrilledforyou.com is a video guestbook designed just for weddings. Its very simple to use. Guests come up to your iMac or Macbook, type their name, click record and start their well wishes or relive that one time in college.Once finished hit done and it is saved right there to your computer. If grandma messes up she can repeat the process very easily. After your wedding ( or honeymoon) you can go through and watch the recordings as many times as you want. You can burn them to a disc or even upload the best ones to youtube to share with friends or family. Also if you also have a videographer, they can incorporate the recordings into your wedding video. Heres a video of what they look like when done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbZCtaA9rSo. Hope this helps!

@French Manicure: You should look into a video guestbook service called GuestFilms or GuestFlix. My sister had it at her wedding last month and it was a lot of fun….she love’s the video they produced, except the part where my mom had a bit too much too drink and cussed on the video!
