Right after we got engaged, my now hubby thought of the best idea ever… every year, on New Year’s Day, we’re going to sit down in front of a video camera together and record a conversation between us about the past year. We’re going to talk about all the big things that happened, good or bad, about our current interests, our friends, anything that we’ll want to remember someday. Basically a video version of a time capsule, about our relationship!
We hope that when our kids grow up, they can get to know what we were like at their age, and when we’re old and wrinkly we can look back at how young and hot we used to be 🙂 I can’t wait to record our first one!
Have any of you bees invented a similar tradition? Tell us all about it!

Sounds good but I would be concerned about the way technology changes. My husband has a couple of VHS of his (now deceased) mother, but we don’t have a way to see them. And converting just a couple hours worth of footage can get rather pricey. I think maybe uploading them to youtube or some other website though might make them more format neutral.

@babymilka74: That’s an excellent point to consider. Hubby is very technology savvy, so I hope he has a solution in mind!
@BirdofaFeather: Me too. I’m terrible at keeping up with journals, and I usually feel most compelled to write in mine when I’m upset about something. So going back and reading it is really depressing!

Thats a really cute thing to do! I am pretty good with keeping up in my journal so I’ll probably just document things that way and also of course, with pictures.
