I am meeting with a videographer tomorrow – he has done wedding films in the past but it is not necessarily his main business. I am a bit worried about this in terms of our meeting (because I am not sure how many brides he has met concerning wedding coverage) … What kind of things should I ask??

idk I guess I would ask to see some samples of his bridal work…

I have already seen his work and love it so I guess I am just asking the logisitcs of how he works

We hired someone who does video on the side and I loved all of his samples.
A couple questions (not sure if you already have them):
-Do you have any back-ups you can ask to be at my wedding if an emergency comes up? Our videographer owns his business but he is in some kind of association where they are able to provide back up for each other in case of emergency.
-Do you have extra video cameras on hand?
-Ask about what they typically put the video on. For example, on videographer can give it to us on Blu-Ray and DVD (maybe this is fairly common). We decided to get both as we are unsure of what will be popular in the future and we want to make sure that we are always able to watch it.
-How do you coordinate with the photographer? I was in a wedding where they clearly hadn’t talked at all and they just didn’t seem to work very well together.
-Make sure you know how many DVDs you receive. We wanted to make sure we had enough for our parents as well (not sure if they will actually watch them but figured it might be nice to have on hand).
-Ask how much overtime is (if it’s not all day coverage). Some people charge and arm and a leg for an extra hour so you want to make sure you stick very closely to your itinerary if you don’t want to pay that fee.
-Can you select the background music? This is actually a big deal. I didn’t follow it all but I know that we do need to stick to certain choices because of licensing issues. I probably should have followed up more on this but I didn’t care too much about the music (as long as it wasn’t obnoxious) but you might want certain songs.
-Have you shot at our venue/ceremony site before? This doesn’t have to be a deal breaker but I feel more comfortable knowing all of our vendors have been to our venue before.
-Do you use a wireless mic? We specifically wanted Fiance to wear a mic so that we can catch the vows clearly on video.
This was our list- hope it helps!
