I’m having a traditional cambodian wedding and tea ceremony which last from friday afternoon (3pm to 9pm) to Saturday morning then reception later in the evening. I am having anxiety over the prices for both a videographer and photographer of a normal 10 hr wedding which cost close to $5k. =/ And they’re not even the super good ones! I can’t imagine the price for a day and half! Any recommendations or suggestions?

My photographer is Pix|Elation. Very affordable. but photography only, no videography.

@sillie: I would look into Jason Rhee (who we booked) http://www.jasonrhee.com/ and Renee Merlino (our runner up) http://www.photographyrenee.com/. Both offered me basic packages (pretty much just photos with rights on a DVD) for under $2500. Renee included a 2nd photographer and Jason included an album. Both are located in NJ, but I believe both work throughout the tri state area (possibly with a travel fee). Fiance liked Jason’s photos better, but I think both are very good. They also both have great reviews on weddingwire. Feel free to pm me if you have questions.

Have you looked for a local Cambodian videographer who would be used to the long hours? I have an Indian friend in Atlanta who specializes in Indian weddings since they’re like awesome 3-day extravaganzas. Pricing is a little more reasonable when it’s someone in the community who “gets it”.
Also, have you looked into Wedit.com? They offer 5 video cameras for you to pass out to friends/family and they’ll do the editing afterwards for you. It’s much more cost effective.
