As a side note, you may want to check with your photographer to see what their policy is on working with a videographer not from their company. Some people will not allow it, others don't care. But that goes both ways. When you inquire about a videographer, be sure they know that you've hired a photographer from somewhere else. I found that sometimes studios will not allow you to hire a third party photographer/videographer for no reason other than they are afraid they make get in each other's way. If you asked me, I think that policy is to ensure they keep all the money to themselves! =)

Have you tried Rock Melon (http://rockmelon.net/)? They also start at that range.
Oh, I also looked at CLY Creation, whose packages also start at under $2K. http://www.clycreation.com/

Does anyone have any suggestions for good videographers in the Manhattan/Northern NJ area? I can only budget 2k and I don't really want cheesy scene fades and all soft-focus lighting! So far on my list are Wes Jones, Wilson Fontaine, and Milk & Honey. I don't even know if they're in my price range yet!
