Vineyards are a great idea. I am having my reception at one in CA. It shouldn't be too much since it's only the two of you. Look up local wineries in your area and check out their wedding packages.
I sooooo wanted to do this, but unfortunately it was out of my budget. FI and I are big winos! But get quotes from lots of different places, and try to negotiate so you can get a great deal. Where it is just you and your FI, I bet you can get a good deal, becuase the winery wouldn't need to shut down to accomodate your wedding. I hope you get your vineyard wedding!
what a wonderful idea- i can already see how cute the pictures will be in my head
@Flygirl J:Not yet, but we are getting married in a vineyard/winery on 10/10/10. I am soooo excited. If you and the hubs to be both love wine and all the fabulousness that nature can bring, I think it's the perfect place. AND...you won't need a bunch of gaudy decorations, b/c a vineyard is naturally and beautifully decorated! I'm just hoping that there is still something on the vine...we're pushing it...but, we both wanted a fall wedding...and then we saw 10/10/10 and that's all she wrote. Best wishes to you, whatever you decide!
@Flygirl J:Oh...I just noticed that you said it's just the two of you. Andrew and I are not having a bridal party...and who says you have to have one? It's all about what works for you and what makes the two of you happy. Your life together is what matters...not who is there or who is in the wedding party. It is just a symbol of your life together...best of luck...
It really just depends on where you do it, as the travel costs will have an impact.
We have done a lot of California Wine Country honeymoons. They're not cheap. But there are wineries all over the country, and you may be able to find some less expensive options.

I am completely obsessed with wine and I just got the most wonderful idea in my head to have my wedding at a vineyard/winery.
Has anyone else ever done this before? And if so, if you dont mind disclosing, about how much did it cost you? My fiancee and I are doing a wedding where its just going to be the two of us (long story), but I'm just curious.
Any recommendations for wineries/vineyards in NC or OK would also be greatly appreciated. Thank yoU!
