- Wedding: September 2013
I can’t believe it’s been over a week since we were married! I don’t post too much on weddingbee, but my favorite part of the boards is seeing recaps. I figured I should do my own. We were married at a vineyards in Central Virginia. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and it all went off without a hitch. I credit a lot to hiring some fabulous vendors. Here is a quick summary of some of the details.
Rather than save and paste all the pictures, here is a link to our photo preview: http://jessica-crews.com/blog/ben-jessica-married/

Total guests – 114, total budget – $25,000
Vendors worth mentioning
Venue – Barren Ridge Vineyards ($4,000): The venue was absolutely gorgeous and allowed us to do a very minimalist decoration. We did no ceremony decorations and very simple center peices of 3 wine bottles with a single calla lilly.
Catering – Early Katering ($8,500): The caterers were great! Our space would only allow for buffet, as there is no room to accommodate the prep for a plated dinner. We did 2 entrees, a beef and steak and potatoes and green beans on the side. Their staff was so friendly and they provided our bartender who worked out great! I was very worried about only have one bartender, but they assured me it would work out fine. My biggest concern was the rush for cocktail hour right after the ceremony so I had them do passed wine for the very beginning of the cocktail hour. I was doing pictures so I have no idea how it went, but I didn’t hear any complaints so hopefully that means well!
Cake – Pastry Love ($400): Sarah works out of her house and did an AMAZING job on the cake. I didn’t eat (it’s one of my biggest regrets, I may have her make me a small cake on our one year anniversary!) but I heard FABULOUS reviews on the cake from guests.
Hair and Makeup – Kreative Beauty by Katie Auville ($350) This included hair and makeup for me and my 3 younger sisters. I had no bridesmaids so wanted to make the trip a little more profitable for Katie and I also knew the younger girls would appreciate it (ages 9-14). She did a FABULOUS job! I rarely wear makeup and was very concerned with it looking natural and I was so impressed with the job she did, we had no makeup trial. We did do a hair trial and I made a few suggestions to her and she adjusted everything perfectly.
Photographer – Jessica Crews Photographer ($1,000 plus one night hotel): She did a fabulous job! It is a part time gig for her so that helped keep the costs low for us. She did supply a second shooter which was super important. We willl have our full disc of photos in the next week, such a quick turnaround!
Videographer – Pine River Films ($2,000): This will, easily, be the best money we spent on the whole wedding. They are new to weddings, but you would never know. They do cinema style films. I am in love with the preview and can not wait to see the final product! They travel and are easily our number 1 recommendation!
I was beyond pleased with the way everything turned out!! Everyone gave us rave reviews (though, would anyone really tell us the bad??). I am so sad it’s over. Now what am I supposed to do with all my time?!?
