Today my husband and I happened upon an amazing little antique store… It was adorable, and I made an amazing find. A hat, possibly 1940’s? Not 100% sure as I’m no hat expert, but now I think i want to be! It is amazing.. I have always had a love obsession with hats, but never thought to move backwards in fashion.
I’m now on the hunt to find a white pillbox hat to wear to the reception at our wedding… For some reason as soon as I put on that hat I felt amazing, like I was living in a different time (silly I know)! I don’t think I’ll find an excuse
I’ll post pictures in a minute… does anyone else collect something silly, such as vintage hats?

I collect hats in general, especially newsboy hats. I also love fedoras, bucket hats, and berets. I was actually known as ‘hat girl’ in high school and college. I wanted to wear a hat at my wedding, but honestly, it would have been impossible to find something to match.
I also collect Monkees memorabilia. I even have a Monkees lunchbox. Also, I love anything dealing with monkeys or frogs, my favorite animals. I have several monkey stuffed animals and actually named some after The Monkees.

That’s an awesome collection! They’ll be really fun to look for. My parents used to love to collect antiques. Their favorite thing to collect was lighters (which is strange cuz neither one of them smoke). I swear I spent hours on the weekend looking at what I thought was CRAP. Now I love it too. I just don’t have any room to store things so I don’t collect. But, I do collect hot sauces. That’s way more strange than hats, no? Lol. I get one everywhere I go. I plan to display them someday.

I used to collect vintage perfume bottles. I love hats, but look assinine in most of them so that collection is out, hehe. I guess I have an unofficial collection of Beatles memorabilia, because that’s all anyone gets me for my birthday, Christmas, etc.

Sorry the pictures are HUGE but I don’t have time to resize right now… I need to fix the veil and I’m thinking about maybe wearing it for Halloween.. it’s just too pretty to put in the closet!

Thanks! I think it’ll be pretty awesome too when I acquire more hats…
And I just noticed I look naked in the pictures, I wasn’t, I promise! Gotta love strapless dresses! lol

My mom wore something really similar to that in the 80’s for her and my dads wedding!
She actually still has it but it is discolored as it wasn’t taken care of properly =(

I love vintage hats too! My mom and I share a collection of them! I just had a summer “holiday” in Ireland, and got to see a wedding. The wedding guests wore the sweetest hats, flowers, and feather fancies in their hair!

@jamiemichelle: That hat is amazing! If I found that hat, I’d probably start a collection too! Seriously, a vintage hat collection is very cool.

Awesome! I accidentally started to collect umbrellas and parasols, haha. We are prepared for all weather and all times! 🙂
