- Wedding: July 2012
I have completely confused myself and need help. I am having a vintage/romatic/historic feel for a wedding at an old venue that has that feel as well. Ceremony will be outside with the reception inside.
Anyways, I bought my dress because I fell in love and it is NOT at all vintage. It is Sophia Tolli’s Alba, which is an a-line with a drop waist and tons of beading done with swaroski crystals and rhinestones.
Here is my problem– I want to add in pearls, but I don’t want to make the dress look funny. Is that possible? Part of my reason is I love the vintage-y look of pearls, and the other part is I want to turn my deceased grandmother’s clip on earrings into a bracelet and necklace set using multi-strand pearls.
Here are the earrings (this is a photo I found online, mine are worn and do not look like yellow gold, but are mostly black with silver outlines and the pearl in the centre)
Would this look funny? Would adding pearls take away from the dress itself?
(here is the dress)
I should add in as well– I am doing a cathedral veil with my dress and am hand beading the veil with swaroski crystals and a few scattered pearls. Could THIS be a bad idea too?
