Ultimately it's your choice to what theme you want. And you have to love the theme/colours for your wedding. Trust your gut. I've seen some beautiful jewel toned weddings. It's all a matter of personal taste :)
Here's a few more peices of my inspiration. My wedding colors: purple, gold, black, and small amounts of turqoise and navy blue. Of course this could all change in a matter of days. Hahahahaha! I'm going to have a woman in Portland hand make my birdcage veil with bleached peacock feathers, and some purple dyed peacock feathers as well. There is some pics of her work included.
Also here is my venue!
I really like your ideas. I would keep my bridesmaids' dresses simple to accentuate the pretty flowers; maybe go with a navy dress and purple peacock bouquets w/ feathers. Check out J. Crew for some really simple, dark blue designs.
I would perhaps stick with the navy and purple to keep the colors from getting too "random." Good luck!!
Those table numbers are freaking cute!
I think with this you just have to be careful that you don't go overboard with the peacock feathers. My inspiration board is party inspired by peacock colors, and I'm only going to have the feathers in maybe my hairpiece and the bouquets. Otherwise everything is only inspired in the color.
I don't think you need to try and find ways to make it more vintage, your photographer can take care of that! I mean I love mismatched teacups and all that but I just can't fit that into the wedding, so I'm not going to (try not to) worry about it actually looking vintage. Here's my board (that I was trying without the peacock feathers at all)

Love those invites too! And I'm going to disagree with brideatbeach (no offense :D)
and say you can incorporate whatever colors you want! There's no rule that says you can only use two colors, if they are in the same palette you can use touches of whatever you want! All of those colors go together, its just a matter of not overwhelming everything with equal amounts of them. Little touches of gold and black won't overwhelm, and all blues and purples will go together!
I was going to have my bridesmaids wear black dresess. There will be enough color in the wedding party with my SO and his groomsmen who are all army pilots and will be wearing their dress blue uniform. I thought I'de keep the bridesmaids simple so it's not overwhelming.
And acutally the navy blue isn't really one of my colors now that I think about it. The only thing that was going to be blue is my shoes (the blue manolo's) and my SO and groomsmen's uniforms. Is that ok? If I don't have any blue anywhere else will that look weird? I guess there's blue in the peacock feathes so maybe that would be good enough?
the black would just be the bridesmaids and maybe the invitations or something. Hmmm...now I'm getting confused. Oh dear...
Well you want to use turquoise right? On the table linens or somewhere else? Purple and black totally works, maybe you could put a little more turquoise in? BM sashes or on the table linens, or the wraps on their bouquets? Again don't worry about only having hints of blue, thats fine! Nothing in my wedding will be as blue as my shoes and I like it that way :D
Is there a reason you're having the bridesmaids wear black? Just to be easy for the girls? I think with all of the lovely purples and navys out there you'd be better off picking something in that realm for them. Just my opinion, but I don't think navy blue and black go together, but purple and navy are very pretty.
Um, is it ok if I call you crazy? Because your pictures are friggin gorgeous. !!
I like it all and I feel like eventually everyones weddings will look dated, I'm sure our Moms thought theirs were beautiful but most of us disagree 20+ years later. Go for it!
I love purple weddings (mine was one!!) and jewel tones are gorgeous!
Here is a picture of our purple (lavender) napkins and chair bows and the deeper purple centerpieces and table numbers.

Thanks for all your helpful comments ladies!! Jenbabe, you're totally right. I guess almost everything looks dated 20+ years down the road. We should just do what we like! My SO brought up that we have such an amazing photographer that she will makes everything lok timeless.
Sulli301, thanks for sharing your beautiful wedding!! I've actually never been a purple person...until now!! Now I can't get enough of all the different shades of purple!! :)
I was showing my SO all these pics (he's in Iraq so sometimes I have to wait days or weeks to talk wedding with him, but luckily he's really involved and likes having input), and he likes the purplis-green-bluis table cloths and the bouquets from above too. We are also going with the actual invitations I listed above!! I'm so excited!!
Arenyth, I was going to do black bridesmaid dresses because my MOH is in her late 40's and a size 18, while my BM is 25 and a size 0. I wanted them to both feel beautiful but still coordinate. I felt that with such drastically different ages and sizes that a colored dresses would make the differences stand out and my MOH might feel uncomfortable. Then they could go buy black dresses, wear whatever makes them feel amazing, and no matter what it would coordinate. It's hard not to match black right? What do you think? And you're idea of adding in touches of turquoise with BM sashes and bouquet wraps....love it!! I think I'm going to try and go with that!!
P.S. Gonna add the vintage touches with this pic on the front of the wedding invitations if we can muster it somehow (plus, that woman in the picture is nurse..so am I)!! Broaches on bouquets, vintage table numbers, and vintage invitations. I think it works without being overpowering.
im doing a peacock/vintage theme with cobalt blue, teal and sage green
this was my inspiration

I came across this peacock stuff on sale today on Macy’s and thought some of you peacock brides might like this as part of your décor:
I know someone who had a peacock feather inspired reception-looked amazing! Everything we do now will look dated eventually so just do something you love now and you'll look back with fond memories forever :)

So I've been having a hrad time nailing down my color scheme. I know I want purple, and peacock feathers. I know I want subtle undertones of the 1940's, but beyond that I was tumped. Every picture I found on google was the same old same old. And I hadn't found anything that truly inpired me until late last night in the wee hours of the morning. Now I'm looking at all my inspiration and wondering, will I look back in 20 years and think that my wedding was ugly???
the table cloths shown in the photos below are beautiful, but they are really what I see being something that could look dated and cheap. THe venue we are using has beautiful gold chivari chairs with balck cushions, so I was originally going to go with black table cloths. Now I want to branch out! Would gold chivari chairs with black cushions look good with those linens?
Also, adding in hints of turquise and navy blue now...it's coming together. But I'm still a little stumped. Thoughts anyone?
Did you have jewel tones at your wedding?? I'd love to see your pics!!
