long time lurker of the beautful rings on here!
Out of curiosity want to identify this ring:
This ring was in my grandmother’s jewelry box and supposebly belonged to one of my great grandmothers (but my grandma went to a lot of estate sales and had a lot of costume jewelry so it could possibly be from that). It is stamped sterling in a small font and T in a larger font. It is not gold? anyone ever seen a ring like this and know when/where it may be from?

If it is in sterling silver it probably isn’t a diamond. It may be glass or a CZ! That doesn’t make t any less pretty and fun tho!

take it to a jeweler to be tested! Thats the only way you’ll really know

more then likely it’s plated gold over sterling with cubic zirconia…very pretty though! Like others have said, it doesn’t hurt to take it to a jeweler and have them tell you exactly what it is.

There’s no way that’s a diamond if it’s in a plated setting. It also looks like a rather large stone, which, if real, would cost a whole bunch of $$.
And unless your great grandmother bought it way later on in life, it probably actually belonged to grandma. Until the 1920s and early 30s, diamonds were cut with chunkier facets and culets. That cut is more like the 50s-80s style.

Are you trying to sell it? Or just wear it. If youre not trying to sell it, just enjoy it for what it is! A piece of your family’s collection. Wear it for fun 🙂 and enjoy the sparklies.
