I haven’t posted very many times, but I’ve read a ton and so far you guys haven’t steered me wrong lol!
I need an opinion on a dress that I found that i’m 99% sure is the one =]. However, i’m a really indecisive person so I need opinions.
I love vintage style dresses! I would wear full sleeves if I could, however, i’m getting married in August outdoors in south dakota lol. I looked at some of the open back dresses with cap sleeves that hook behind the neck and have open circle you know? They just didn’t have the detail I was looking for. I found one with a full lace back that I LOVE! its Davids bridal T3299.
My concern is that while yes I love the vintage styles, i’m also a 22 year old bride, I don’t want to feel old, stuffy, on my wedding day. I still want to feel beautiful and sexy. Do you think this dress screams “weirdly religious/modest” or is tailored more towards an older bride?
I love the dress, I just need some opinions! I should also state that i’m getting married August 31st, 2013 in an outdoor ceremony with a ? reception and and am doing a country chic theme with my colors as yellow and burlap. I will also be wearing my cowboy boots under my dress.
Thanks for your opinions ladies!

Sorry for some reason it is only letting me upload one pic, I’ll upload more when I get home tonight and can use my laptop not my phone =]. Thanks!
PS the sample in the picture was obviously a few sizes too big lol

here’s a pic of the front of the dress
I think the dress is perfect for what you are looking for.

I think it’s a pretty dress but I definitely understand your concern. I’m a fairly young bride as well and my mom and my David’s consultant both steered me away from those kinds of dresses because they said I’d look better in something “youthful”. I think it definitely has a vintage feel and it is definitely sexy!

Vintage style dresses will NEVER go out to style. Mine is an Allure 8770.

You will always look best in the gown you love, regardless of whether it’s trendy or not. There is absolutely nothing wrong, and a whole lot RIGHT, with being a young bride who demonstrates timeless good taste and who doesn’t let it all hang out just because “everybody else is doing it.” This dress is a great choice!

It is beautiful and reminds me of Princess Kates dress:)

I love the dress! I say go for it! Remember the “Trendy” dresses in the 80s with big, poofy sleeves? How many brides have kicked themselves over those wedding pictures?

Nope, it’s perfect! I have seen a few brides wearing them all that were in their 20’s- with fun accessories and a fun wedding otheriwse, the dress takes on a life of it’s own! Go for it!

Hey this is my dress too! My wedding is June 1, 2013 and I am having the same feelings as you! I keep comparing it to the more trendy dresses and feeling like its old fashion. on the other hand It’s the only dress that almost made me cry. It’s so confusing! I would love to see pics once altered.

this is my dress too! Im 27, and so im a LITTLE older than you but i dont feel old in it, and i don’t think it looks old fashioned; just vintage and romantic! i was going to wear my mom’s dress from the 80’s that has long sleeves, but i figured the process of making the dress look the way i want was too much work, this one has some similarities. i also am doing a country/rustic/vintage theme for my wedding, but it will be in fall and my colors will be purple and orange 🙂

Honestly? Yes, it’s “older” (mostly because of the cut of the sleeves and how wide they are), but it’s no less beautiful. I adore sleeves and think they can add a sophisticated elegance that’s a bit harder to project when you’re wearing something more ~flirty and youthful~.
It doesn’t scream “weirdly religious” (I hope that was a mean Girls reference?! :D). Do you look fresh out of the compound? Certainly not. Will people ask for tracts or pamphlets the moment they see you? Nope. But would it be appropriate to wear in a lot of churches? Yes. Is that bad? Not at all.
As long as you feel fabulous, you will radiate that all day, and no one will think twice about how your dress. Also, I’m sure none of your guests will mistake you for an older bride, anyway (since they know you). 🙂 It’s all about confidence confidence confidence!

If vintage is who you are then embrace it. Why be ashamed? I think its a nice classic dress, and isn’t one of those horrid see through dresses. My goodness what will your grandchildren say in one of those????
You love it. Buy it.

I think it’s beautiful; it’s timeless. If you’re worried about feeling/looking “old”, maybe consider choices for your hair, makeup, accessories and veil that feel more youthful to you. I think a young bride in that dress wearing her hair down, long and flowing with beautiful drop earrings would look gorgeous and not stuffy or outdated at all.

I also think you will feel differently about it when it is fitted perfectly and shows off your figure!
