So I have been thinking about the table numbers and wanted something unique and personal and then came up with the simplest idea today. I collect antique photos, not only random but from the family. So I simply edited a digital file of one to have the number on it and will print either on card stock or matte photo paper and frame. I have 6 tables besides the bride table so I am hoping that my Future Mother-In-Law can get some from her side of the family – unfortunately they are from the Phillipines and not sure there are any stateside but hoping she can get some scanned for me before the wedding.
So here is my sample – it is my grandmother and great uncle – what do you think?

I think that’s very sweet.
I would probably rethink it though if it ends up you only have pictures of your side of the family.

That is WONDERFUL! Maybe you could have a backup plan of printing antique looking pictures that were taken more recently if you can only find a few pictures from your FI’s side.
Maybe use black and white or sepia so they don’t stand out so much as new? You could play with effects on iPhoto or a similar program.

Those are so cute! I love them

Great idea! If they don’t have any in the USA you have plenty of time for them to scan and email you some, or get copies made and mail them to you to scan.

Awesome! Do you have photo editing software? I would make the number a bit larger or even put a circle around it with a low transparency (so you can still see that part of the photo behind it). Just so people don’t have to loo too hard for the numbers.
Super cute idea!
