Hi ladies!! As some of you may know, I'm sort of obsessed with vintage wedding gowns. Now that my wedding is all wrapped up I've got the time to do what I've been thinking of for months: a weekly roundup of the most stylish and fabulous gowns I can find on the good old internet. Some are perfect just as they are and others just require a little tweak here and tuck there, but with a little imagination they could be show stoppers. Gowns posted should be less (hopefully much less) than $1000. Any accessories I stumble on will be posted as well.
Please feel free to post up anything you happen to come across in your online wanderings...just be sure to link to the seller's website. Hopefully this will help some brides looking for a creative and beautiful way to stay on budget AND look drop dead gorgeous!
All class baby.

Unbelievable price for silk, looks like something you'd find in a bridal shop today!

So perfect for the courthouse! Just hem that sucker to knee length and rock some peep-toes.

I love these.... I am really in the market for a vintage style dress, the only problem I'm running into is most are not white and we're having an all white wedding party so that's kinda a requirement... sigh.
Oh well... keep up the awesome dress posts!
For me the ultimate sources of Vintage wedding dreses are Martin McCrea and Nataya.
those are nice websites with cute dresses, but i meant this to be a listing resource for brides looking for vintage dresses, not vintage *inspired* dresses. that kind of takes the fun out of it.

my personal favorite:

Have you seen http://www.thefrock.com/ ?
The prices vary a lot, and are generally fairly high, but a lot is in the same range as a new bridal gown, and there are some gems for under $1k. The clothes are amazing though - total eye candy!
If I was more of a vintage size, I would have got my dress from here. She's got lots of couture gowns as well as early 20th century and 19th century clothes, and it's not just bridal gowns.
$78 are you kidding? hotness!!!
http://www.etsy.com/listing/50437789/vintage-1950s-chimera-lace-dress?ref=sr_gallery_5&ga_search_query=lace&ga_search_type=category&category=vintage.clothing.dress&ga_page=21&order=&includes[]=tags&includes[]=title
dang, why are all these hot little vintage numbers so tiny? 25.5 inch waists... I wish!
jealous of you petite gals, and hope some of you pull of one of these :)
I know that I need to get sized in order to know what would fit. But lord I can't believe how people can wear 00 :( I want this one: http://www.antiquedress.com/item9948.htm
@sweetrose omg that is heavenly! new favorite site, a bit pricey but that is some seriouse couture she is selling! my fav is already sold, but then again my ass is already married...http://www.antiquedress.com/gallerywed.htm
Vintage dresses like that are so tiny, because they're usually prom or cotillion dresses and were worn by teens. I was that small when I was 15. Ha, not anymore!
I did manage to find this baby for my rehearsal dinner:

Ok! Here's to your happy Friday...
I'm biased in my love for lace collars, and this one has a cutie! $138?? If I wasn't already a wife this would be a leading contender!! The only change I would make is minor-buy or make a white satin belt to define the waist, nothing fancy or busy but I really think that would take it the next level. Drooling in 5...4...3...

hmmm, found another great Etsy vendor, her pics aren't the best but she has nice selection of 40-60's era stuff at mostly decent prices:
http://www.etsy.com/shop/creativegatherings
I especially like these 2:
Looks very 50's, and like silk, but no fabric is given in the ad. This is quite a unique dress, the scalloped neckline is absolutely perfect and if you took the sleeves off and made it a boatneck it would be stunning. Other than the sleeves and maybe taking off the bow on the back I wouldn't do a thing to this dress, the lace work is really unusual and extremely elegant. My new, new favorite! All class baby.
http://www.etsy.com/listing/36250539/spectacular-vintage-wedding-dresstulle
This one is really pretty for a garden wedding, and the beautiful lace train comes off so no need for bustle!
Did you miss me?? Well here's a show stopper for you: all cream lace (appears alencon) deco period sleeveless dress. Just hem, throw a slip under and you are good to go. Absolutely stunning for a casual wedding.
and this 50's embroidered beauty:
Hey there all you hot mamas!! Boy do I have a jaw-dropper for you this week!
I really need to apologize to my own dress here, I'm totally cheating on her. This is just heavenly, and with a 27 inch natural waist it is a bit more accomodating for us modern not size 2 ladies! Seriously, just snip off the sleeves and take down the collar (cringe!) to that beautiful swooping neckline, use the collar lace for something else, and you've got yourself one hell of a show stopping dress. I'm smitten, hopefully some other non-married bee will be too and give this lovely a good home!
@j.grossman13: Cutest thing I have ever seen.
I love TimelessVixenVintage on etsy (same seller as a few that j.grossman13 posted previously). This one is the perfect little princessy dress:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/52859759/1950s-vintage-metallic-silver-sparkling
Anyone for 'something blue'?

http://www.etsy.com/listing/44889153/1950s-vintage-ivory-white-sheer-silk
Beautiful:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/41128152/earth-angel-earth-angel-will-you-be-mine
So elegant:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/52644002/vintage-romantic-lace-wedding-dress
Cute and classic:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/49992582/i-do-vintage-50s-wedding-dress-unused
Gorgeous plus size gown - a great find as most vintage dresses are so tiny:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/44919149/vintage-plus-size-beaded-satin-and-lace
Pink and romantic:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/51295915/vintage-1950s-pale-pink-romantic-cottage
And saving the best til last - gasp! sigh! Apart from the neckline this is exactly the 1940s Ginger Rogers style I wanted (but had to get made as I couldn't find anything vintage).

http://www.etsy.com/listing/51056265/vintage-daisy-bridal-gown
talk about best for last!! that is absolutely fabulous!! i officially want to get married again (to the same guy :) ) just so i can wear another fabulous vintage dress! thanks so much for the pics!
Just had to share:

@MsInterpret: I love the detailing on that!
I adore this from the same seller: Classic 1950s style. Gorgeous as is but it could easily be made very modern by removing the sleeves too.

http://www.etsy.com/listing/44163836/vintage-1950s-minuette-lace-dress
While I'm on a roll - how fun is this little 80s number? Only $20!!

http://www.etsy.com/listing/53082024/80s-madonna-inspired-like-a-virgin-white
The Vintage Wedding Dress Company in London produces vintage-inspired dresses but it also has lots of breathtaking genuine vintage gowns too. They're not available online, unfortunately, but for those people buying a dress in London it could be a great shop. I think some must have been altered in line with more current fashions because I can't believe how new they look!

http://www.thevintageweddingdresscompany.com/collections/vintage/
@snuggly: I would wear that 80s one if it were longer!
This day is turning to poo for me pretty quick, so to cheer myself up here are more lovlies, I hope they cheer you up too!
and then...holy cow!!
just snip the sleeves off, leaving the lace to gracefully cap your shoulders-gorgeous.
WANT.SO.BAD. It's too bad it's taboo to wear white to other peoples' weddings, hey? I have one coming up this style of dress would be perfect for, in any other color.
I've decided to let this one go... :) I was going to get it and alter it. It's gorgeous. I think I am going another direction though. It is unusual for vintage in that it has a 44" bust! But, a 31" waist... but $138! Wow. I am just too wishy washy and unwilling to deal with what it would take for it to fit me well.
http://www.etsy.com/listing/51865625/vintage-tiered-lace-wedding-gown

@chillmer, go back to etsy, search under vintage for "50's party dress". i've seen so many in that exact style in fabulous colors, while you're there hit up Vintageous, that style is their specialty! also-you can have white dresses dyed pretty much any color, maybe inquire at your local dry cleaners.

Sorry, I couldn't grab the pic but it's a 30's satin wedding dress for $49 (!!!!) and beautiful!
And ooooh how I love this one. Not sure how much work it would need and her measurements are useless... but she does mention a 28" waist on the underskirt which is promising, maybe, as to the rest of the dress' size..?
I am unable, apparently, to snag any ebay pics anymore!?
Okay, finally one with pics I could grab.. and wow! Look at all that lace!! I am a lace fiend. Total Southern Belle thing going on here. Do you love it?? I do! XS, $129. I swear I want to get married every year! To the same person, of course. ;)

Oooh look!! Yeah it is tiny and needs some serious steaming... but this 40's dress with the big puff sleeves has removable longer sleeves /gauntlet things, a slip, buttons allllll the way down the back, and best of all (IMO), the photo of the original bride in the original frame!! Too adorable, but I'm a sentimental fool like that! And $99!

@MsInterpret: I love that it comes with the original photo. How amazing is that?
I've been kinda hoarding dresses on my etsy favourites list (it's like shopping without the credit card charges!) so this might take a while...
Love the silhouette! Lower the neckline a bit or remove the sleeves entirely and you've got something completely modern. Plus the dot tulle is adorable.

http://www.etsy.com/listing/51322531/vintage-wedding-bridal-dress-gown-70s
Gorgeous back:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/52237867/30s-oragandy-and-chantilly-lace-wedding
So it's a nightgown... but I still love it. Add a silk slip and you've got a gorgeous Grecian gown worthy of a wedding - and it's only $30!

http://www.etsy.com/listing/50713517/grecian-goddess-nightgown-in-excellent
Another nightgown! This one would make a beautiful dress for an informal garden or beach wedding, engagement shoot, rehearsal...

http://www.etsy.com/listing/48684604/vintage-vanity-fair-lace-nightgown
Pretty ballerina style!

http://www.etsy.com/listing/45654170/vintage-50s-lace-and-tulle-wedding-dress
Wow, look at that train! The hat's a bit
though

http://www.etsy.com/listing/50323926/victorian-wedding-dream-vintage-gown-and?image_id=154395557
I adore the detailing on this 1930s gem:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/38780723/reserved-for-anne-summer-sale-1930s-bias
Fluffy fairytale fun:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/49012688/vintage-prom-wedding-dress-nos-tulle-and
Gorgeous built-in shoulder wrap:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/45974161/angelic-alli
A little OTT with the detailing, but with some of it removed this one has a lot of potential:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/40968589/vintage-snow-white-sheer-tulle-white
There are a lot of dresses like this on there (full ball gown with long lacy sleeves), so I'll only post these two... but if you're after something like this I'm sure you'll find something perfect!
In ruffly lace:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/39498517/floating-frills-a-1950s-tulle-and-lace
And in dupioni silk:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/43983572/the-princess-bride-vintage-1950s
Just gorgeous:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/51801561/1950s-lace-tulle-and-satin-dream-dress
This one's not like the others at all but still technically vintage... very modern-looking!

http://www.etsy.com/listing/43689367/1960s-vintage-white-gold-silver-sequin
Beaded beauty and something a little different. Looks very 1920s but I think it's a lot more modern than that (the ad doesn't mention the era).

http://www.etsy.com/listing/51711747/show-stopping-vintage-sue-wong-with
Glorious silk and lace:

http://www.etsy.com/listing/52838933/stunning-vintage-silk-lace-mermaid-train
Believe it or not, there’s still more to come... I’ve so far restricted my list to things that look a bit more bridal (white / ivory and mainly full length) but I’ve also found some gorgeous colourful frocks that would make great non-traditional choices or beautiful unique bridesmaid dresses. I’ll be back!
How could I forget this one... That's ok, I think it deserves its own post
Such incredible lace! And it's a mermaid silhouette which can be quite hard to find in vintage (more commonly a-line or ball gown). Incredible value for $150 with so much potential...

http://www.etsy.com/listing/52227070/lorrie-kabala-princess-ivory-lace
One more for any Kiwis, Aussies or others who are willing to buy from overseas...

I’ve been watching this dress on www.trademe.co.nz (New Zealand’s local version of eBay) for a while. It’s such a shame nobody’s bidding on it! It’s gorgeous and in great condition, and it’s selling for $75 NZD (around $53 USD). I’m very tempted to email the seller and suggest etsy instead – it could probably sell for twice as much or more.
