Can you provde VIP parking for some guests? Just family or something?
I would see if you can buy VIP permits for the old folks. Then just include on your wedding website the parking information so guests can be prepared (either with comfy shoes or $6 to get their own VIP spot).
I would just put it on your website - "free parking available a quarter mile down the hill, or VIP parking is available for a small fee of $6 per vehicle."
but like PPs suggested, I would consider reserving VIP for any guests you know are physically unable to manage the stairs. :)

Aaaaah so last night I woke up in the middle of the night and venue parking popped in to my head! I had not considered this before but, my venue Cataway's in Burbank does not have very accomadating free parking. They do offer VIP but I think it's like $6 if I remember right and it's right in front of the wedding area. If you opt for the free parking it's really hidden and you have to drive down a slope and park in back of the restraunt/banquet center. Even worse if you park in that area you have to climb A LOT of stairs. It's kind of awkward and not accomadating for guests. Especially older folks. Do you guys think I should shell out for VIP parking for my guests? Aargh! I love my venue but all these things keep on popping up that I know I should have considered before I booked, but I just got really excited and now I'm really goinbg to pay for it!!!!!
