I went in for my second dress fitting and felt like the boning in the front was MUCH more noticeable than before. The dress had to be taken in on the sides and I wondered if that contributed to making it more visible. I never noticed it before. My seamstress said the alterations did change anything with the boning, and that maybe I just didn't notice it before. But, I can't help thinking that somehow the alterations made the boning more visible. Would pulling the dress tighter around my waist make the boning stick out? Would you loose fabric in the front if you took the dress in at the sides? Basically, is there anyway to fix or hide the boning? I liked how smooth and sleek the dress looked before it was altered. I prefer to keep the boning in it, but not have it stick out so much. To me, the dress now looks lumpy and bumy where the vertical boning pieces are. Anyone have any insight or suggestions?
