I was torn between recycled and linen. The environmentalist side of me wanted recycled, but the parents all thought that the linen was mandatory for a wedding invitation!

@MrsRevolutionize:  I bought 100 lb matte stock.  I have ordered glossy from them before and thought it looked less expensive and christmas cardy

I just got mine and am very happy with the thickness and look of the 100lb matte

I wanted linen but ordered the 100lb matte because I read that the linen doesn’t always look good double sided and our invites are double sided.  I hope I made the right decision, they shipped Friday!

The 100lb matte I compared to a letterpress invitation that was a very expensive invitation and mine from Vistaprint was actually thicker!! I was pretty happy about that.  I got $250 worth of invites for $130:)

We did our extra cards through vista print like our info card and we LOVED the linen finish but we also wanted a textures look and feel to go with our main invite from Michaels. Our cards were printed on both sides and both sides looked great!

I just ordered some samples of our invitations to check paper/colors before we ordered all of them. Base on adivce on found on the bee, I went with the Premium 100lb matte-stock. I think it has a really classy matte finish and is very thick. Our STD’s were printed on the standard postcard paper, and they were a little thin, though fine for the STD’s. Some say the linen is a little thin…I made my final decision based on the photos on this thread:  http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/how-heavy-thick-are-vista-print-invites#axzz2t1sr61PB

@MrsRevolutionize:  my linen invites just came in!  I love the texture! We used it on the invites themselves and the recycled matte for our inserts.  We are very pleased for what we paid!  My only disappointment is something that is my own fault, so I have nothing I can reasonably complain about!

Can anyone post a picture of their various types of paper? Or even of the sample ones they had? I too wanted to order before the sale was over and regretted not ordering a sample soon enough!

I wanted to make my invitations as cheap as possible, as it is just for our reception party, not our real wedding (was originally going to go with the postcards for even cheaper, but the invitations will cost enough to earn me free shipping)… so I was hoping the included Matte Finish 220 g/m² would be ok… did anyone order this type??

Also, I added a photo on the reverse side… can anyone who has added an image let me know what the quality was? Did it come out like it would if you printed from a computer, or does it look like an actual photo?

    Hey,

I wanted the save the dates to be sturdy. I went with Preimum glossy. They have a great weight and will hold up well when mailed. I tried to take some pictures to show the thickness. Vistaprint has great deals but they have better groupon sales. Every once in a while you can get a groupon for $17 for 70 dollars worth of product. But, being in canada I couldn’t use the groupOn. If you are in the states it would be something to consider. Here are the pictures… Excuse the grainy way they look due to my camera phone (they look really clear in person)… I also tried to turn it sideways so you could see the glossy shine.

I added a photo on the back and it turned out like a picture would. Although I did use one of our professional photos so I am assuming the quality of image was good.

Hey Bees!  I have been torn between the linen and recycled matte as well!

donna_saur:  Hi!  I’m thinking about mixing my papers up for my invitations as well.  I am thinking about doing the invitation with linen and the inserts with the recycled matte (RSVP and INFO card).  How do they look side by side?  Thanks in advance:)

ashleynicoleisengaged:  Wow!  Those look amazing!  And so thick!  Now I’m thinking about doing my STDs with the premium glossy over the recycled matte.  So many decisions … first world problems, I know!;)

MrsRevolutionize:  I did linen. I also bought linen inner envelopes from an office supply store to jazz  them up, further. The invites were so cheap and I’ve gotten SO many compliments. I love linen paper.
