I plan on ordering my invitations from vistaprint. I have designed the invitation to their size specifications (Flat – 9 x 6 with the final trimmed size being 5.47″ x 8.50″). It comes with a 6 x 9 envelope. Of course there are other inserts also but all are smaller than the inviation size.
My question is how do you package it all? I have always seen invitations with an outer and inner envelope but Vistaprint does not offer this as their largest envelope is the 6 x 9 size. What did everyone else do that ordered Vistaprint invites??? Did you use those belly band things to put around everything and then put it in the outer enveleope? How do you include the guest names if you do that?
I have been searching online for a slightly larger envelope and while I have found 6.5 x 9.5 they are all the manilla/yellow syle ones that open at the top…
PLEASEEEE PLLLEEEASSEEEEEE help me! I am running out of time and on the verge of a nervous breakdown!

I’m not doing Vistaprint Invitations but I just met with an Invitations Consultant/Calligrapher who will be making my invitations and she knew quite a bit about the etiquitte behind 1 envelope or 2 envelopes.
The 2 envelopes are the traditional route–apparently they were used back in the day when people hand carried the mail and the outer envelope would get dirty/dropped on the ground, etc. But the inner envelope stayed clean. Hence the need for two envelopes.
These days there’s no need to have that outer envelope. And more and more people are just going with one envelope and it’s perfectly fine to put all the guests names and even ‘and guest’ on the one envelope.
That’s what she said, and she knows about this stuff since it’s her job. Anyways, hope this helps! I’m just doing one envelope and writing on the names on the outside. It’s much cheaper to go this route too!
Oh also about the packaging, you could do a belly band, but i’ve usually just seen the invite with the other inserts just placed inside. Some people do pocket folds but that’s a lot of work. I think it’s fine/normal to just put them nicely (in order) all into the envelope without worrying about adding something extra (i.e. belly bands)
