I love VistaPrint - I have been using them since day 1 of my wedding planning and have gotten so many things for free.
I went back and forth on a "Thank You" sign to use in our pictures to later be added to our thank you cards. I tried a DIY parasol, which turned out terrible and then thought a plain sign would be better. I used my favorite font, scriptina, uploaded to VistaPrint when they were having their "free" sale and now I have my "thank you" sign for photos for a total cost of $13.93.
Next, onto our reserved signs, and this is where I need your help. We are not having assigned seating at our wedding. I know it's not the norm in a lot of places, but out of the hundreds of weddings I've been to, I have only had assigned seating at one (that's no joke). We only need reserved signs for our families at the wedding so I wanted a tent-style sign to place at those tables.
I found these invitations at VistaPrint and ordered them with my wording for a total cost of $4.64. Then I attached them to brown cardstock paper and added some rhinestone embellishments. There is something very seriously wrong with these "Reserved" signs and I'm anxious to see if anyone can tell what it is.
FI doesn't want to use them ... but I'm anxious to see if anyone can tell what is wrong? With the other table decorations (flowers, vintage books, etc.), I don't think anyone will notice. Did you?!?!
I don't see anything wrong... but now I'm really curious as to what the flaw is!

The only thing i can think of is that "For" starts with a capital letter... but that was after staring at it for a bit and not being able to see anything else that could be "wrong"...
I can't see it! I mean, I was looking for a typo or something and maybe the problem is something else, but it looks fine to me!
I feel like this is one of those emails that ask you to stare at a pic and then something jumps out at you... cause... i cant see what is wrong!!!

And now after staring at it so long... the word "Families" just looks funny... hahaha
@pinkshoes: I know, that happens when I look at my name for a really long time.
@pinkshoes: Hah!! Same I was like "families" is such an odd looking word, the letter combination is creeping me out.
I copy edited for four years and I can't see anything wrong with it. The capitalization is kind of wonky, but wedding items are almost always like that.
could it be the capitalization? looks fine to me as is. now i'm curious!
The only thing I spot is the dotted line only on the left side of the sign, but I assumed that is a design element (and looks just fine to me). I'm really curious to know what your FI thinks is wrong....
Is it that the font on the reserved sign doesn't match the one on the Thank you? If that's your concern, I assure you no one will notice or care.
Hmm...I don't see any spelling errors. There's the weird capitalization, but that's not a big deal.
Umm...the little florishes in the corner kinda look like boobs?! LOL I don't know!
I see a dotted line in the left corner that is not in the right corner... but I don't think it makes it look bad. That's the only thing I see that's off, besides perhaps the capitalization, which I don't think is a big deal.
Okay, I just opened your image in paint and increased my zoom. Really close up it looks like teddybears in the swirls and soothers are those three point flowers. But I only saw it because I was looking for something to be wrong. I am I right?
The only thing different is the "chain" on the upper left corner. It looks like everything is spelled correctly. Are we supposed to be comparing the "thank you" sign to the "reserved" sign?
ETA:Wait a minute!! Are those baby PACIFIERS linked together? On closer inspection, it looks like the design is meant for a baby shower.
I'm with EleanorRigby, the dotted line was the only think I really noticed. The caps don't matter IMHO, and the font doesn't either if that was a concern. Hum... I'm curious now!
@smileyd: Yes, you are correct! I didn't realize it when I ordered them BUT they are baby shower invitations. I took out the wording and added my own, but when they arrived - holy crap, there are pacifiers and teddy bears mixed in the design swirls in the corners.
So now that you know ... do you think anyone will notice? I tried to cover up some of them with the rhinestone embellishments, but if I cover up all of them, it will be way too busy.
Ahhhh... now I do see what smileyd is talking about!! NOBODY is going to notice that! I would had NEVER have saw that unless she said something!!!
I didnt notice until she said something and I zoomed in on the picture myself.
@milesbella: I had to blow the picture up REALLY big to see that so I think you will be fine. Plus, once everyone is seated, you can have someone go through and collect them all so they won't have time to inspect them closely =) I say use them as is.
ooooohh.. haha, how big are these signs? what about a few more embellisments in a few strategic spots?
@pinkshoes: The invitation itself is 4x8 and then I glued it onto a cardstock. The flower embellishments are covering up two additional pacifiers. I was afraid to cover up any more b/c I thought it may make it too busy.
Any other ideas for how to cover them up - or should I just leave them alone and hope that nobody noticies?
Unless someone expects you to make a mistake like that I figure you'll be fine. Just do as a PP suggested and have someone collect the cards once everyone has found their seats.
If it really bothers you and your FI, you already know how cheap it is to order from VistaPrint!
I think that's pretty small that no one will really notice. They'll read the sign and then move along. No one will be analyzing your sign. And if anyone notices, it makes a funny story. I mean, it's so cheap you could order it again, or you can laugh about it if anyone notices, it's not a show stopper in the world of wedding details.
@bells: Agreed. The point of a reserved sign is so people stay away from it! :)
I think you're fine. I NEVER would've seen that.
I wouldnt stress I cant find anything.. and remember nobody notices the little details about your wedding as much as you do!!
I dont think it's that noticeable but I would reprint since it would be pretty easy to do.
