Thought those bees TTC would find this article really interesting.
it says that vitamin D deficiency can cause all sorts of fertility problems and can even hamper IVF success. Especially for those of us who live up north.
my neighbor had an Rx for high dose vitamin D and apparently it is as effective as clomid in spurring on ovulation. She got pregnant right after taking it.
As we are TTC I will definitely be taking the maximum daily intake of vitamin D. And getting out in the sun as often as possible.

Ive been taking vitamin D3 for over a month now and going out in the sun to take care of my very light acne and it has worked wonders. Good to know it’s also good for fertility!

It can also have an effect on cycle regularity. I take 10,000IU’s 4x’s a week because of that! (plus whatever sun I can get)

@nataliegrace90: Thanks for the info. I live in a sunny place but may just have to add this to my list of supplements:)

@mrs.stormylove: It’s not a bad idea to for 2 reasons: 1. quality of the D that you get from the sun (even in places like So Cal) goes down during the winter months. My Endo has me on extra D during the winter for just that reason. 2. There are genes that effect how well you absorb D from sunlight, so even if you live in the sunniest area ever and are always outside, you still might not absorb enough D.

@nataliegrace90: I have been taking 3000iu of Vitamin D3 for over a year. I hope one of these days it gives the baby I want, you know 🙂

I take 2000iu daily and have been for almost 2 years. Maybe I should increase? Or add D3?

oh geez, you just reminded me I need vitamins. I live in the land of vitamin D deficiency….contrary to my stated home city. Lack of vitamin D also linked to MS, and other problems. Get your vitamin D!
