Have any of you diagnosed with PCOS tried taking Vitex?  I'm curious if it's helped to regulate periods, or even ovulation resulting in pregnancy.  I've seen lots of positive reviews, but am hoping to hear some advice from the hive - I trust ya'll more than other sites! :)  Thanks!

I haven't tried it, but Ryna has.  I'd send her a message if she doesn't see your question.

i have PCOS, i used vitex to help shorten my cycles. my cycles off bc were super long & my dr had been inducing them when they weren't coming. vitex made a big difference. i think if i had taken it longer it would have done more, but even in the few months that i used it, my cycles shortened to 40ish days and my skin had never looked better (didn't know that people use it for that reason also, but it was a nice bonus!). my dr put me back on bc, since i wasn't looking to get pregnant, and said she planned on giving me something to make me ovulate after the wedding (i'm assuming that would be clomid), but i think i might try vitex for a month or two first and see if i have any luck.

i don't think it would hurt you to give it a try! good luck & lots of baby dust to you=)

Haven't tried it (not ttc yet) but my friend who also has PCOS has and seems to be liking it so far. Isn't pregnant yet, but they've only been trying for a little bit.

I don't have PCOS but I am considering taking it to shorten my long cycles. I ovulate, but not until CD26, sometimes later. Earliest I ever have since charting was like CD19. The only thing is I'm a little nervous it will make it go in the other direction and further throw it off. I'm definitely interested in following this thread.

I only took it for one month and it gave me the longest cycle I have ever had (41 days) with no ovulation. I have PCOS and metformin has helped me ovulate on my own and have normal 28-31 day cycles. Good luck.

Thanks all!  I think I'm going to try it out for a few months and see.  My husband and I were seeing a doctor but we just got married in March and it was too stressful that soon in our marriage, so we want to try some natural things that don't require all the bloodwork and doctor visits.  I'll let ya'll know how it goes!
