You're right, you can't wear the matching one alone.
What is the width of the ering band vs. the antique-y wedding band? If they are close in width I think it would be a nice combo.
I'm a big fan of things NOT sitting flush, so I would go with the second one! You're right, the first one would look strange on its own. Here is my non-matching set:
It sounds like having a wedding band you can wear solo is more important to you than having them sit flush (which I am in total agreement with!), so I say go for the second one. I love the character of it as well.
It is fun to be eclectic. I am not matching. My wedding band will be rose gold and my engagement ring antique white gold.
Can you return after you order? I had the exact same dilemma (matchy or not) and I ordered 2 rings and tried them both with my ring so I could make an informed decision :)
I'm having my rings soddered together so they'll be one ring so it's not an issue for me. However, since you said you want to wear just your wedding band in certain situations, then I would go for the non-matching one because the matching one might look a bit odd on it's own. Plus the non-matching one is more unique!
Can you find a matching band without the notch? My band matches my e-ring, but there is no notch, so I can wear it by itself without it looking weird.
Update! They just emailed me this ring (shown with my ering), which they would be able to make half-eternity (so I can get it resized someday.) I love it- it's non matchy, but looks great with my engagement ring or by itself.
Awesome!! That is the exact ring I was considering and it is beautiful!! Ultimately I went with a matching ring but that one is really pretty!
My heart just leapt when I saw it! It's "the one" feeling like when I tried on my dress :) Now I have to find out how much it will cost. I'm nervous.
Ottawabride: your set is gorgeous btw. Yay for non-matching :)
I love the mismatched look. It makes it so much more interesting :)
@littleaudrey, do you mind if I ask where you got your ring? That is exactly what I've been looking for!
Moissaniteco.com If you're into moissanite, it has the best variety of designs I've seen, and excellent customer service. They have been patiently answering all my questions about what would go best with my engagement ring and are customizing one of the rings. I highly reccomend them. Their prices are also excellent.

Hey bees,
The search continues. I want to find a dainty wedding band to wear with my solitaire or by itself. I love the idea of wearing my ring on separate hands or together depending on my mood.
The website where I got my moissanite ring suggested the matching band below. It has a nice notch so that it would sit perfectly flush with my ring. I think at times that would be reeeeally nice. But then won't it look goofy to wear alone? It's half eternity, so I can't spin it around in that situation. I really want to be able to wear just my wedding band in certain situations.
Or there's this lovely antique style I found. The only thing is there would be a gap when I wear them together, but I would probably wear them on separate hands a lot. I love the non matchy look as well.
Tell me your honest opinion.
