    Colors are navy and yellow

    Theme is elegant/rustic (barn reception)

    I am having long tables and fruit-wood chiavari chairs.

    I am thinking of using a burlap table runner, with mason jars full of mostly yellow flowers scattered down the table.  We would also mix in some whites and possibly dark blue flowers, if available. I would then do navy napkins.

    Possibility #2: Do a navy runner (could also be navy burlap), with yellow flowers lining the table and white napkins. I would still want to do the mason jars, although white vases would pop against the navy I think.

    What do you think? There are so many combinations I could use? Help me out!

    I think both options would be great.

    The navy table runner may seem more natutical/new england than rustic like the burlap.  I LOVE burlap table runners, so I'm partial to them.

    Tough decision, you should do some mock ups and compare.  Or look for comparable inspiration photos.

    Maybe do a burlap runner with a smaller navy runner (or wide ribbon) down the center. Navy flowers are kind of difficult to find so I'd keep the navy in little touches (linens, text on place cards, decorations on favors).

    My colors are navy & pale pink and I'm only using the navy in small areas because it got too overwhelming to have a lot of it (plus I thought it made everything too dark)

    I agree with mcnetn3 and camrie- I think the navy might make it look too nautical, and using too much navy might make it look too dark.

    I like the burlap runner idea. Instead of trying to find navy flowers, you could just use yellow and white flowers and tie a navy ribbon around the mason jars.

    My choice would be some of each option! Burlap runner, white cloth, white napkin, yellow(or yellow and white) flowers. You could use twine on the napkins to attach a flower or ? to tie the napkins in with the runner.

    @julies1949: LOVE LOVE LOVE!

    Thanks for the advise..I was thinking too much navy will overwhelm and look more nautical, rather than rustic. I like the thought of ditching the navy napkins even, becuse they take away from the clean yellow/white look, and then using the navy ribbon around the jars.

    I think not using the navy napkins is a good idea. Using Navy on the jars or in your table numbers would probably be perfect.

    @mcnetn3:  Great idea on the table numbers. I'm starting to get excited how this is coming together.

    I would go with navy tableclothes, burlap runners, and white chairs with navy ties. For the centerpiece I would use several mason jars filled with lemon slices in the bottom with yellow and blue flowers on long banquet tables. Very understated with simple elegance.
