    Hi everyone,

I'm having a tough time deciding on what to get my parents. They're paying for the wedding and giving us some cash on top of it, so I want to get them something really nice.  They're both retired, living in Scottsdale, AZ.  They like to travel, but aren't really outdoors people. Spa treatments are out because my mom got a masectemy without reconstruction, so I don't think she'd like showing her body to strangers.

    1) Buy them a gift certificate two nights ($400/night) and dinner/breakfasts  in a really nice hotel in Sedona with a whirlpool, a really beautiful part of AZ.  The restaurant is supposed to be extremely good, and it's pet friendly, so they can bring their two dogs.  It's about 2.5 hours from Scottsdale.

    2) Buy them somehow, airfare and 1 week hotel to NYC, so they can come visit us.   No idea when they'd be free, so it'd have to be through gift certificaes to a specific airline/hotel, or a card asking them to tell us when they're free and we'll book it.   But I worry about all the subways/stairs.  My mom has hip problems, so she has problems going up and down stairs, so they'd have to take a taxi all the time.

    3) Create a date package for them, i.e. gift certificate for 4-5 really nice restaurants, hot air ballon ride, and movie tickets.

I would vote for 1 or 3 - something special just for them.  I think 3 sounds really nice, but you obviously know your parents better than we do.  I'm sure they will appreciate whatever you give them.

I'd go for #1 or #3.    #2 is a nice idea because they could come visit you, but I think its better to get them something for just them.

Thanks guys.  That definitely helps.  I guess between #1 and#3, one they get out of town and three they'd get more stuff, but would need to stay in town.     I'mnot sure what they would think is more special.
