Need help picking a picture to go over the couch. I think I know which one, but I’ve looked at them so many times, they are all starting to look the same. I’ve always had a dream that I would have a picture of my wedding over the couch. Over time, as events happened (vacations, etc) and babies came, we would add to that picture over the couch. The frame we bought is a black 11×14 wood frame with white (cream ?) matte, so the picture will be 8×10.
Here are the choices:#1- Laughing Kiss#2- Bride Laughing, Groom “I hate having my picture taken, but I’m doing this because I love you”#3- Tree trunk in the foreground#4- To the future and beyond#5- Traditional portrait in front of waterfall#6- Looking at each other (waterfall)#7- Looking at each other (waterfall, closeup)
Thanks for you your input. Any opinions or reasons why you picked one over another are greatly appreciated!

Are you more modern or traditional in your house decor?

I say number 6… Its a beautiful setting and you both look very natural. Gorgeous pictures, you look beautiful.

@tksjewelry: It’s hard to say. So much of our stuff has just been accumulated over the years. My couch is from Pottery Barn (I think it’s called Charleston). But we have a large black book case from Ikea. My side table is from the mid-90’s when distressed light wood was in. His side table is white modular, very retro 60’s look. I’m hoping in the next few years we will get furniture that matches. But right now all major saving is for a house.

I like #4 then to add that modern touch, it feels artsy and modern to me with the building in the background.

#4 would open up the wall a lot. It has both of your profiles. You are both smiling. You can see both of your eyes and your are focused together on a common gaze, so lines of the photo converge well. This photo has a lot of potential to give dimenion and mood to the whole room.
A lot depends on your decor, though. Because the photo can be seen as more “modern” than other styles, but it can blend since it is a wedding and your dress is soft and romantic. The size and placement of the photo in relation to the room will influence the photo’s impact as well as whether there are windows in the room, and if so, what the natural light and other light in the room is like.

I like #1…it gives off such a happy feeling and I like the natural setting in the background.

I love the natural look of #6 but #1 is a close second for me!

number 4 is the most striking

6 all the way looks amazing.

I really like the first one – you both look more natural and comfortable in front of the camera in that one.

I really like the waterfall in #6 & #7, in fact that’s one of the main reasons we picked the venue, but you can’t really see my face. It kinda irks me that the photographer didn’t have me turn my face just a little bit so there is more of a profile instead of the back of my head.

I like the first one – you guys look the most natural and the background is beautiful!
