I went to try on the sample of my dress the other day to get ideas for my bustle. My dress is a little different from the sample (it will be petite and white), but this gave me a good idea of the different bustles.

I really loved the royal bustle but I chose the over bustle because I think it flows more with the clean lines of the dress.  If you want a poufy fancy feel, however, go with royal.

I really like teh royal or the double french.  Your dress is so simple that it really adds some great drama to the back.

I would also inquire which stays better.  I have heard horror stories about people getting elaborate but delicate bustles only to have them break and rip the dress.

i voted for the over bustle, but my second choice would be one of the french ones. your dress has such nice clean lines that i found that the other ones were too fussy and didn't flow with the style of the dress. good luck with your choice, it's a beautiful dress! :)

I really like the simplicity and clean lines of the over bustle, but they all look great, depending on what kind of extra flair you want to give your dress.

I really like the royal bustle, but chose the over bustle for the clean lines. If you were looking for a bit more whimsy, though, I would go with the royal bustle.

I loved the look of the royal bustle.  It is something you do not see as often as some of the others. Whatever you go with will look beautiful.

I think less is more - I chose the over bustle, but if you want that little touch of glam second would be royal, for me.

    Best of Luck.

I voted Royal because I LOVE how it looks and I think it really adds something to a simple (not in a bad way! LOL) dress. :) It looks really intricate though... If you go that route make sure you have a couple people that know how to do it. :)

Love love love the Royal bustle.  It's somewhat unexpected with the clean lines of the dress.    Terrible analogy time - it's a mullet: business in the front and party in the back!

I love the over-bustle with your dress.  It's just simple, elegant and clean, which I think your dress is as well.

BTW, your dress is gorgeous!  Who's the designer?

I really liked the royal bustle on the dress. I was very wary of the others with that style of dress for some reason, but obviously my opinion

I voted royal with gathered a close second. Also, now I know what all the different terms mean - I had no idea which one was which.

Definitely the over bustle. I'm usually a french bustle person, but the over bustle for your dress works perfectly and almost looks like part of the dress design!

You dress has an elegance to it that I think the over bustle compliments nicely.

I voted for the over bustle because of the clean lines that it gives your dress. To me the dress is all about the clean line, especially the front. My second choice would be the royal.

Voted for over bustle because as other posters have said, it goes very well with the rest of your dress.  It gives the back nice clean lines.

I voted over bustle because it continues the whole clean lines look of the dress. It really looked best to me.

Thank you all SO much for weighing in on my bustle!!! What a tough decision! I'm leaning toward the royal bustle right now because I love that it adds something very unique to the dress (and it has the most votes right now)

LOVE the royal bustle. It isn't something you see everyday and it doesn't interfere with the clean lines of your dress. on the other hand, i also really love the gathered bustle, but that looks complicated and on the day of, when you're in a rush, it might be hard to reproduce the fluffiness (almost like pickups!). In any case, i like the royal bustle better.

The over-bustle looks great! I think the others are too complicated for that style of dress. Good luck, whichever you choose!

I thought the royal bustle looked the best. I usually prefer a one-point bustle American style but I didn't see that on your list. It works well with a short train. I love your dress, it's so classic. I had circled one just like that to try on!

I really like the look of the overbustle with the rest of your dress, it keeps the attention on the front details of your dress.

I like the Royal bustle best, and the double French second best. =) Usually I'm more of a French bustle fan, but on your dress the Royal bustle looks stunning, and adds some flair!

A close third is the simple over bustle...however, I've heard that those are a pain in the you-know-what to sit on, and that they really put strain on your hips if your train is too heavy.

I like the gathered bustle.  I'm not sure about the french because it looks messy and I don't really like the over bustle because I think it's too plain.  Then again, I'm one of those people that really likes pick-ups.  But that's just me.

The Royal bustle is very complimentary to the neckline of your gown, it's very beautiful, a very good choice and a bit different...in a great way!
