I would love to renew our vows. Not really a whole re-wedding thing but I would love the chance to wear a dress again. Would this be appropriate? Im 25 and we were married when i was 20. We have been through quite a lot of difficulties, I married in school etc and iving with grandparents until we could get our own place which was a VERY bad idea…now we are out the other end, blissfully hapy and have a 12 week old baby. I’m in the UK and the only people i have ever heard of renewing their vows was my grandparents at my aunts wedding, so they didnt have their own ceremony or anything. Any vow renewal stories or advice??

I think you can make a vow renewal ceremony whatever you want it to be. I think for you it sounds like a very nice idea. So, what are your reasons for wanting it? (you didn’t really describe your original wedding.) Is it so you can throw a nicer party than you had the first time? Or would you just want an intimate ceremony with the people close to you?

Our wedding was huge and to be honest I didn’t know half the people there. My mum & dad paid for it and my estended family is huge. Although it was a lovely day I felt I didn’t have any input into it…I was so young and was kind of just swept along with it all… I also feel that I have really only got to know myself in the past few years and my own style, personality etc and regret the fact that I never made it personal. I know it won’t be a second wedding, I just want to wear a pretty dress, have a small intimate affair and a small celebration after. I am so proud that I got married so young despite everyone telling me that I was making a mistake, and am proud of the fact we are still so in love, and would like to symbolise this somehow.
