So, my husband and I are having a Vow Renewal Celebration next summer and I’ve been really flirting with the idea of a ceremony based on the concept that Eve was made from Adam’s rib. I initially fell in love with the Lover’s Knot/Fisherman’s Knot idea, but technically we’ve tied the knot already. The whole unity candlelight tradition is well – a little too traditional for our liking. So back to Adam and Eve. I randomly came across this post and was so inspired.
We’re going to craft something similar to what was written in the post and my uncle, a pastor, will read it. I wasn’t sure how to create a representation of it during the ceremony, though? Having a fake rib and heart at the alter is kind of creepy LOL Any ideas?

I’m assuming you mean vows… not vowels. 😉 But What about just repeating the exact vows you said on your wedding day? I like the reading, but agree that the rib thing may be creepy. So how about restating your vows, doing that reading, maybe doing the fishermans knot thing anyways, since you like it. And then calling it a day. Oh i guess you could sprinkle in some music and a sermon too.

Anyway we actually didn’t have any type of celebration when we got married this summer. Hmmmm I like the idea of incorporating both 🙂

Wow, as someone who’s not into the Bible, that is BEAUTIFUL. I can see why you were inspired.
An idea I had was maybe you could lay your hand on your DH’s heart at a certain point during the reading. Maybe he could lay his hand on yours too? Simple, but meaningful, especially if you are looking at each other. 🙂
