I wanted to share my experience as your opinions and reviews were very helpful to me and I honestly would have not got such a good results without them…
I earlier posted about me trying to ordering a SaBelle replica from Jasmine’s but after lack of communication from them (didn’t reply my e-mails) then I finally made my mind and decided over a Kendall replica and risked myself with Dang Dang Dress as I could not find much feedback here back then as there were about other workshops. I hope this could be of help for some of you.
This is the original dress:
My first contacts with Dang Dang Dress were good. Considering the extra size (I am chubby) the dress was quoted around $750 USD and they included the veil (a cathedral lenght veil with lace) so considering others was not that expensive (specially considering that the original is over 13,000 USD). I also sent drawings with explanations to make sure that all was understood and were no details misunderstood from the pictures.
After several weeks of work and several e-mails asking for feedback (afraid that the result was not as wanted) they finally sent me some pictures almost about shipping it:
I was not happy with the result: The ruffles on top were too short and in addition of that, they added tafetta to the organza, making them stiff and look like a tutu… when I complained, they were reluctant to rework because the dress was almost ready to be shipped (eventhoug I had requested those pictures way in advance) and after maaaany e-mails they agreed to rework but the result was still not as I expected. To make it worst, they added tafetta as well in the back and it made it look strange. I had to explained in detail why that was not acceptable but they didn’t agreed to rework, always saying that the patterns and instructions in their system were that way, that it was the right way and that they would not remove that tafetta… I don’t know what your opinion would be but this was the result:
The dress came like 10 days later than the original shipping date due to the reworks but I was still not in love with the results when it arrived. In addition to it, the dress had one loop less in the back (kind of eyelets in the back to tie up like a corset, as I ordered it) in one of the sides, so that had to be reworked by my mom, in addition to another one that got ripped the first time that I tried it on (and it was not that tight so I guess it was not very well sewn).
This is my dress (sorry but don’t know why it keeps turning the picture):
My experience with Dang Dang in summary: way more communicative than Jasmine’s but don’t expect that you could ask them to do anything different than they think is Ok. I got compliments on my dress on my wedding day, but I got way more compliments on the another one I ordered in the last minute after my issues with Dang Dang.
The second dress is a replica of Pronovias Bergamo. Here is the original dress with my comments on it:
I fell in love with it and wanted to give a try to some other workshop because, what else could go wrong after my previous experience? And it was so affordable (about 280 USD including a lace bolero) so I took a chanve with a DH Gate shop after days of researching on the feedback from customers on many shops: Early Bird1. They not only were super kind in all their communications, but they understood EXACTLY what I needed. I did some modificatons to the original dress as it was a trumpet or siren style under the tulle and lace and i don’t have the body to wear it, so I ordered it A line under, following the natural flow of the lace and they understood that perfectly…! Here is the back of it:
In addition to it, they e-mailed me with picture of the fabric and lace samples for me to pick. I was very confident of getting the dress I wanted this time.
When it arrived, I just could not be happier with the result. The seams were perfect, the lining had its own lining sewn in the bottom, just like the designer dresses and it fit and feel perfect.
The only thing is that the dress came like 10 cms (about 2.5 inches) longer than I needed it, but the Kendall replica came with just the same 10 cms extra. Fortunately, my mom fixed it and it was great!
By the way, my mom’s dress was made by another DH Gate workshop, happy_young is the name of the shop and it was perfect too. Nice fabric and embroidery and it fit and feel perfect as well. She was so happy with the dress and it was very affordable too (about 180 USD). So I recommend them as well. Here is a picture of my mom (real) dress:
In summary: 8 to Dang Dang, 10 to DH Gate Early Bird and 10 to DH Gate Happy Young.
I hope you could find this useful. Thanks to all of the bees that replied my questions and commented my posts. You were unvaluable to make decisions and at the end, everybody loved my 2 dresses. Cheers! Bea.
