we're engaged!!!!

saturday night, we went out for dinner and a movie, and it was really fun and nice. then we went home, and it was still really early, so we decided to play some scrabble and then maybe watch some old west wing episodes. i've known it was coming for a little while now, but by that point, i figured that it wasn't going to happen that night, so i changed out of my cute shirt into an old, ratty, comfy, torn up sweatshirt. he usually refuses to play scrabble with me-- he gets super competitive, and i beat him way too often  so, we're playing and he's winning and being all cocky about it. a few rounds in, i go into the kitchen to refill my water glass while he's taking his turn, and when i come back out, the board says "marry me" and there's a ring sitting on top of the letters!! after giggling uncontrollably for a few minutes and lots of tears and kisses, i say, "wait, did i say yes yet?"

and @crebre--he wasn't acting nervous at all!! i had no idea anything was up, right before he proposed he just kept gloating about how he was winning the game! he had gotten all the letters ready while i was quickly walking our dog, so he just was waiting for the right moment to put them on the board!
