I think ill be going bonkers anyway… It makes me think about it more but after a while I get tired of looking at wedding related stuff and I basically get my fix… I am super exited still but I dont feel the need to bring it up to my SO as often.

mostly no, although it does make sense that it would bother someone to interact with thousands of others who have just what they want. I enjoy getting feedback and connecting with others in my situation though

WeddingBee and me have a bittersweet relationship. I’m addicted to reading the boards but I think that the support is awesome.

This is my engagement outlet because there is noway I would be talking about little clues my SO is giving me (for example) with anyone I know real life. I did a Google search to see if anyone else was in a situation like me and I found this board and it makes the wait a lil better.

On the other hand, it constantly reminds me that I am still waiting on his proposal

Surprisingly, no. It makes it better for me because I see more people still stuck waiting like I am while in real life all of my friends are announcing engagements and babies.

I tend to stick to the waiting board for support and occasionally venture onto the main page to read threads that pique my interest 🙂

It’s much much less torturous than the real world, I still get jealous of some girls but you all kind of exist in a bubble of fantasy that I can step away from, real life, less so XD

No, I wouldn’t bother logging on if I didn’t enjoy reading/posting here.

I’ve only been with my SO for 21 months (2 years in Nov) but I’m somewhat “older” – I’ll be 28 before our anniversary – so I think I’m more anxious for a proposal than someone who is in their early 20s! These boards are AWFUL for me, haha. I discovered moissanite, and while investigating it I found the Bee, and now I’m CONSTANTLY searching for engagement rings and wedding dresses. Ugh.

At least my SO has asked questions about what I’d like in a ring and things like that, so I feel like we’re on the right track, but sometimes I do think I should just get off the bee and stop WAITING and just enjoy! We definitely have some career and education things still left to figure out (SO might want to go back to school) so an engagement could be a LONG way off or could be around the corner. Either way, I love my SO, and it does make me uncomfortable sometimes when I get that waiting “itch” to have a sparkly ring on my finger!

Facebook is more torture for me – seeing actual people I kind of know get engaged and married is hard. It always seems so effortless, because obviously the other thing I see is the happy pictures. I always wonder if they were waiting like we are…

It makes me feel sooo much better that there are other women out there going through the same thing! One thing I love is that you see progression in posters – it goes from “my SO doesn’t want to get married!” to “he has the ring!” to the proposal story to the dress worries to the invitation etiquette. I love this, because it makes me realise that all us waiting Bees will be going through that whole thing soon enough 🙂 One by one we’ll be posting our engagement ring photos!
