You can start taking prenatal vitamins up to two years prior to conceiving. This gets your body in better shape and can also prevent some of that early morning sickness when you do become pregnant.

I was feeling the same way, and now that DH told me we can try to conceive once we start the house building process, I am starting to feel less like trying because I am more excited about the house (And I see how expesive this is going to be, yikes!). I think I just needed him to say yes, know what I mean?

I would say find something that interests you, that can take your mind away. If you want to start getting prepared, I would say go back to charting (in case there are problems later down the road), and start taking a prenatal vitamin now, which is what I am going to do as well.

@shaniqua:  some include extra omega 3’s and I always make sure I buy the organic ones so they don’t contain extra chemicals or artificial dyes.

@shaniqua, I feel your pain. I was ready to start trying Jan 1st, but DH didn’t seem quite so enthused. We are waiting a few more months. He did say something along the lines of “I think it’s hard for men to feel like they are completely prepared to be fathers.” I think he’s just a little scared at the prospect of being responsible for a little one. He would probably be fine if I got pregnant right now, but I’m hoping the few months to adjust to the idea will make it a little less scary. Meanwhile it seems like everyone around me has had a baby in the last year!

i am feeling simliarly. and i talked with DH about it. i know that it’d be wrong to start TTC now, but it doesnt stop me from wanting to!! Seeing the adorable bump threads and the BFP tests makes me want it! DH has told me that he doesnt want us to just rush to the next step of our lives. we both want the thrill of trying, and the excitement of telling people and watching the baby grow and buying clothes and thinking of names… and its all so amazing to do! But DH helps me get my head back on my shoulders. we would’ve been engaged 1 year earlier than we were if it was up to me, and we would’ve been married 1.5 years earlier as well. i DO tend to be impatient… BUT i’m SO glad that we waited, and i need to trust him. Thats MY situation currently.. though i am completely neck-deep in BABY fever anyway.  🙂  SIL is pregnant so i’m living through her til July.  🙂
