I custom ordered engagement rings for my SO and myself. I am extremely picky, particularly when it comes to jewlery (I don’t like jewlery, basically :P), so me choosing my own ring was the only way things were happening. Anyway, so the ring guy lets me know our set will be completed at the end of January/beginning of February. I’m so excited!
I keep looking at the rings he makes and I just want them now! My SO’s ring is actually custom made, there’s not a photo of it anywhere. But I am so excited for them both.
I told my SO about the update. And he’s dying to know when I’ll propose. It is so much FUN to tease him.
He knows what the ring will look like, as well as mine. We’ve discussed wedding/marriage a lot and he has no problem with me proposing. I’m quite…headstrong and nontraditional. I don’t think it will surprise anyone that I proposed, his family or mine.
Any bee’s planning on popping the question soon?

Already married here, but congrats on your upcoming proposal/engagement!

I proposed to my ex. It was a mistake because our relationship wasn’t right and we should have been ending, not trying to force ourselves into a forever relationship… but most people thought it was cute and it made for a nice story.
I’ve seen a few websites like offbeat bride with stories about women who proposed to their SOs, and they’re always so lovely 🙂
Tradition is important for some, but it doesn’t need to rule everyone. I’m excited for you and love that you guys are enjoying this process! Can’t wait to hear your proposal story and see the rings when it finally happens!

If my guy wasn’t soo traditional…I would have proposed! But my DH would have taken it BADLY…like it was saying he wasn’t “the man” in the relationship or something. But I think it is awesome that your guy would not mind at all!

I love this idea! I feel like my bf would’t love this if I did it, he’s a very “traditional” person, but for a different couple I say full steam ahead! Way to break the mold 🙂

@practicallyme: No, I would never propose to my man. But I would simply decide together to get married, without any proposal (in fact that’s what we did. Worked a treat).
Now when can we see photos of these rings??!

@practicallyme: I’m with valintine, would never pop the question to any man, that tradition is strong in me personally, BUT I literally am quite excited for you and good luck!! Congrats on taking the plunge soon! Hope you can update us w/ pics.
