I’ve been so impatient lately. With everything- and waiting for the proposal isn’t even the hardest part (per se, I’ll explain.)
Been finishing up my summer courses so that I can get my degree in the winter. But this week is convocation week at my university, and seeing all of the new grads walking around campus in their gowns and hoods and holding their dimplomas has made me jealous and impatient, even though really I only have a few months left to go before I’m going to be a graduate too.
Then there’s getting a place with SO, which I won’t get to do until I graduate (huge part of why I’m so anxious to graduate). Right now I’m still living with my folks so that I don’t have to throw away loan money for housing while they’re still in the neighborhood (I’ll need those loans for once I’m done this degree and have to move out-of-province for teacher’s college). I hate not getting to spend every night with SO ( I have separation anxiety, which makes things even worse), so the sooner we get our own place, the better.
And then both SO and I have agreed that there won’t be any engagement until we are straightened away in our own place (so again, huge part of why I want to graduate and get our own place– snowball effect).
Not a fan of the “hurry up and wait” game.

@Papillion: Aww girl I feel ya, I was so anxious to graduate this spring and move back in with SO. Hopefully with school you’ll be so busy the time will fly! Winter isn’t that far away, and then you’ll be so busy house/apartment hunting…and next thing you know you’ll be all squared away and they’ll be a ring on your finger! Hang in there!! *hugs*

@kendra389: Very true- I always find my semesters go by fast (which usually means a lot of cramming to meet exam deadlines haha!)

I’m in the same stupid boat. School, housing, travel, and I’m sitting here waiting for it

I still have 3 more years before I graduate! Initially, we thought we’d wait until I graduate to get married, but recently SO gave me a 1 year timeline on the engagement and we’d get married 1 year after.
We are living together, but in my Mom’s basement that we’ve been renovating (which is really nice!). But still, we would like to be on our own.
So, I hear you on being impatient! I hope the year flies by and you get engaged shortly after!

I’m in the same situation. I also have 3 more years of grad school. SO is starting to look at apartments now to hopefully move into this summer, but I’ll be away at school. So I’m waiting for him to get his own place, but I won’t really be able to share it except for weekends =/
A while back he also said that after he’s situated in his own place we’ll be able to get engaged, but who knows how long “situating” takes? lol
