Weddingbee boards

No no, not waiting for an engagement tonight but.......

After a lot of serious tongue biting on my part I have managed to not mention a word about marriage, engagements, weddings, etc. since our last discussion about it 3 or 4 weeks ago. (It started out as a HUGE argument, but ended up turning into a really awesome convo about our futures together) And now... tonight, we are going ring shopping!

Even though we're only looking tonight and we're months away from a real engagement... just this step makes it feel so real to me. And even though we've been together for 4.5 years, I just keep thinking about how excited I am to start my life with him.

Tonight we're going to (a) find out my ring size and (b) pick out some styles. He gets the final say, but I can be a control freak (read: I NEED TO BE IN CONTROL ALL THE TIME :-D) so I just want to pick out a few rings that I would be interested in, then let him do the rest. I rarely wear jewelry and I have tiny hands so I'm really looking for something small and simple.

I am SOOOOOO excited for tonight and really, just can't believe it's happening! :)

One of the jewelers we went to was incredibly thorough with us... By the time they were ready to close up shop we hadn't even looked at settings yet, just loose stones! He offered to stay late so we could look at settings, but we already felt bad for keeping him so late and told him we would come back. We were getting ready to leave and the jeweler said, "Well I know that sometimes the man wants to surprise the lady, so maybe I should get your ring size before you leave, then he can come back alone for the final decision." We both started laughing and boyfriend said, "Uhhh yea, K doesn't really like surprises, so I'm pretty sure I won't be coming back alone." Ah, he knows me too well :)
