Have you contacted the video company? Sometimes, the editing process take a bit longer than expected for varous reasons. I would ask for an updated ETA and then relax. Putting too much pressure on the videog may interupt the creativity, or it may get the videographer to stop procratinating (were all human!) An update should ease your mind and put a little fire under her behind!
Good Luck!
On one hand, I used to be a wedding videographer. It's possible that he got behind on work (though it's not an acceptable excuse) and is trying to get caught up. Sometimes they are working on several wedding videos at once, and it does get overwhelming. However, 5 months seems too long to be waiting. I would still contact him for an update.
On the other hand, I completely understand where you're coming from. It's been over a year since my wedding, and I haven't received my wedding video yet. It's a complicated situation.
Thanks for the input, ladies. We were able to get in touch with him and the videos are finished and on their way. I understand that the season can get busy... I just wanted to get the time frame without adding unnecessary pressure. He was very cool about it and even gave us a few upgrades.
Superstitions, I'm sorry to hear that you haven't gotten your video yet... 13 months is a very long time to wait.

Hi ladies,
We decided to go with videography at our wedding and are still waiting to see the final product (20 weeks later). Our contract stated that it would be approximately 12-16 weeks. During that time (12-16 weeks) I sent an e-mail to see how things were coming along & he mentioned it would take a little bit longer but his goal was to get them out in the coming month. I'm in the process of sending a second e-mail because it is now a month past what he said it would be in his last reply.
For those of you who hired a videographer, how long did you end up waiting to get your video/DVD?
