I’ve posted this before but as soon as my BF gets his tax return back, he’s buying the ring. Now the closer it gets to that time the more indecisive I’ve gotten about what I want for my ring! He just keeps asking me, “well, which one do you want?” and the more I try to make a final decision the more I’m unsure of what I really want!
Originally I wanted a radiant cut solitaire then after realizing my BF hates radiant cuts, I decided on a nice classic round cut. So I spent WAY too much time looking at other peoples rings on here and at different rings online and I fell in love with solitaires with twisty bands. I found one of those that I really, really loved and decided that it was THE ring. Now I keep looking at pictures of just regular round solitaires with plain bands and it’s just such a classic look and I kind of think I might want that with a twisty wedding band. I’m so confused! haha
Anyone else made themselves completely confused by looking at an overwhelming amount of options while trying to be patient?

Yes, lol. if you looked at my post history, you’d see that I’ve made at least 10 boards saying “THIS is 100% for sure my ring, I decided!” and that’s not even counting the others that I changed my mind on too quick to write about! I did a lot of ring browsing, but in the end I think it paid off because I think my ring is really the best one we could have gotten.

Have you actually been able to try on any rings? If you haven’t, I think you will find that it will really help you decide what will work best for you and what you will love most.
I went in having no idea what I would really want, other than that I knew I wanted a halo. After trying on the different cuts and styles, I found my dream ring. No ring regret here!

I feel the same way! We have been looking for almost a year (!) and I waffle back and forth all the time. Part of my indecision comes from the fact that they are very few good jewelry stores nearby so I’ve done so much looking online and its just so hard to know what you want from a picture of someone else’s hand.

@Cory_loves_this_girl: I tried on several rings about 1.5 months ago and the solitaire with the plain band was what I decided on that day. Then I saw the twisty band ring and love it and decided I wanted that. Last weekend my BF and I stopped to look at some rings and I went back to the plain solitaire. I haven’t been anywhere that has any rings that look even kind of like the twisty one so I have no real comparison.

I had a lot of rings I liked too, and tried to talk FI into a cheaper setting. He wasnt hearing it though and I dont feel I was really all that indecisive. I had rings I liked and I had the one I thought was too expensive, and he felt the price was fine on. So we went with that one because it was my girly dream.
I do reccomend trying rings on if you dont have the one absolute setting you must have. You might get a better idea of what you really want.

@BHB0526: Same boat, sista!
Have you actually tried the rings on? I say this because I thought I wanted a RB solitaire with a plain band, but when I tried some on (even at Tiffany’s) I was disappointed. It just looked odd on my hand. I still love seeing pics of bees’ rings on here with RBs but it somehow didn’t do it for me!
I also considered yellow diamonds but never found a setting I quite liked until I stumbled on one at Tiffany’s that I fell in love with (Soleste halo w. cushion cut yellow diamond). We both loved it.
That was back in September when I tried it on, and I’m still pretty sure that it’s the right ring for me, but yes, seeing all this ring porn makes me question it!
Go with what makes your heart sing.

I sent my FI so many pictures of rings it was a running joke. He wanted to make the final choice, maybe give your future FI some guidlines and let it be a surprise?

@canarydiamond: I’ve actually had kind of the opposite experience you have had. The round solitaires seem to look right on my hand. I almost never wear jewelry. I literally own 1 ring that I wear right now and its a silver fleur de lis and at best I might wear it once a month. I just haven’t found anything like the twisty ring in stores to try on so I can’t say for sure it wouldn’t be better…

@BHB0526: If you’re not a jewelry person, you might want to go w. a plain band. If you go from nothing to something kinda fancy, it might not feel right. Not sure! I don’t think you can go wrong w. either choice, really.

@BHB0526: I’m also in this boat! We’ve been looking at rings since June- I dont even know how many I have tried on. I know what I want in a ring, but I don’t know how to pick from the few finalists- its a lot of pressure to pick something you are going to wear EVERY day for the rest of your life! If you haven’t tried anything on, I would recommend it! There was a picture I saw in a magazine and I loved the ring- but when I tried it on with the wedding band it went all the way up to my knuckle- I didn’t like how it looked, wasn’t comfortable, etc. good luck!

I’m not quite at that stage with my SO, but I have a secret folder where I constantly add/drop pictures of rings I like. That folder has gone up to about 50 pics, to 15, to 70, to 30, and now its at 88 lol Since I don’t see myself going into stores by myself to try on rings I really have no idea which ones would look good on my hand or would be comfortable. I have an idea of what I don’t like, but in regards to what I like in pictures I might feel completely different when I try it on. I don’t even know if my SO would want to go ring shopping together and try stuff on. I’m worried he’d barely be ok with pictures and if that’s the case I probably wouldn’t let him see all 80 lol On the other hand, since I’m so indecisive I’m debating just letting him do everything when it comes timem aside from a few guidelines. I know I’ll love whatever he gets me, and this way I don’t have to show the crazy lol
