My SO got me a pretty, diamond promise ring and I made them put a temporary sizer on it so I could wear it for at least a week. I had to get over the initial excitement. It’s like when they let a mother hold their baby for two seconds then take it right away to get it cleaned and checked out.

AGREED!  Where I got mine, I went to a local place first and couldn’t find a ring we both agreed on.  Then we went to Belden Jewelers (as good as a chain place like Kay and Zales) and found something we both liked.  They happened to have a rep there that day for an event they were having and all the girls that worked there were telling me how fast I’d get my ring back, that it would only take 2 weeks because the order was going straight through the rep…. yadda yadda… but I guess I was in bridal bliss bc I guess the rep had said it would take 6-8 weeks because the band I chose wasn’t pre-made, that they had to custom make it.  SO!  Two weeks in, and I found out I have at LEAST 4 more weeks to go!  Then that doesn’t even include engraving!

GHAH!  4-6 weeks to go…..  🙁

And is it just me or does anyone else feel silly going to bridal shows without a ring on it???  I certainly did!  I kept wondering if people were wondering where my ring was or wondering if I was a “faker.”  LOL
