I'm in finance and I had to wait on a background check too...! I haaaate that. I've never done anything wrong, but I still get nervous waiting anyway lol. Hopefully they let you know soon!!
Hmmm it took maybe a week? They did the background check at the same time they looked at my drug test results and when they called my references. It's tough but hang in there!!
We do backround checks for my company... you find out interesting things about people... like relieving yourself in public... yeah not something you want your possible employers to find out about.
LOL! My friend is a staffer and she said she sees some CRAZY stuff, Ms. Caniche! She also said IN (where I live now) is fast but that NJ (where I previously lived) takes forever :(
I don't have anything bad on there so I'm not worried about the report, just anxious for them to get it back and realize I'm *fabulous* for the job (LOL) Since ya know my current job pays me barely anything, and our CEO is an idiot and can't even get my name right (he has only 2 employees!) I am so ready to get into a GREAT job!
We do background checks on all our candidates. The company we use only takes four hours to complete a background and credit check. How fast it takes will probably depends on what company they go through; as long as you know your background is clean, though, you have nothing to worry about. :) You'll be fine!

Ok so I posted about my interview and assessment last week. both went SUPER well and this weekend they emailed saying that I was one of the top candidates (with an ! at the end!) and requested me to sign a release for a background check (the position deals with money) so I sent that over Monday.
I HATE WAITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a HUGE nationwide company so I know they have the availability to get it done faster than smaller companies. I am just sick of waiting, I love this job and want it!!!
Anyone have similar experiences with background checks?
