I’m a newBEE here..
My beau & I have been together for 3 years / 4 months and have lived together for over 2 years. 1st marriage for both and no kids.
We talked about marriage, ceremony etc…He wanted a huge ceremony etc…I do not. After convincing him that with our families being 1200 miles away -due to health my parents can’t travel and his Mom doesn’t like me (my impression) he agreed that when the time was right we would get married at the courthouse-with his Grandma and my BFF joining us. I told him about 9 months ago that I wanted to be married by the time I was 40–which is now only 25 days away!! I later changed that to being engaged by the time I am 40.
We are having our rings custom made and having the 3rd meeting with the jeweler this Tuesday. When we met with the jeweler 2 days ago my beau asked if it would be possible to have the rings done by July 17th–answer YES.
So I am playing the waiting game. I think he will propose either on his b’day or mine-his b’day is 6 days before mine.
Oh and we already have the date set 12-12-12. We are totally going about this backwards. I told him until he asks me to marry him, it’s not official .

i kinda did the same thing too, We moved in together after just 3 months of dating and staring talking about marriage pretty much straight away. We discussed our favourite venues and even went to wedding fayes before we were engaged. Although we didnt mention this to anyone else i think hey would have thought it pretty weird!! But a year and a half later we have been engaged for 6 months and getting married next year 🙂
The waiting is the hardest bit but once your engaged the time will fly by!

We also have done a fair chunk of planning without being officially engaged. We’re waiting for my ring to be made and by my estimation it should be done any day now!! But yes, we have a date and even a preliminary hold on a venue for next year! Of course, we live outside of the country we’re getting married in, so the planning needed to be done a little differently. If we didn’t put a hold on the date we wanted, we likely would have to wait another year and really didn’t want a super long engagement. The venue has been kind enough to hold the date until we can see it this August without requiring a deposit.
Sorry, I just went off, there!
Anyways, I’m sure your proposal is coming soon! It sounds like he has a plan in mind. 🙂
