- Wedding: November 2014
I’ve been lurking here for a while, trying to gather my thoughts (and courage!) enough to write them out in an official “put me on the list!” post.
Here’s the skinny: my SO and I have been together a little over a year, he’s 31, I’m 25. Despite not having dated for a super long time, we’ve been very very close from the beginning, and have been talking “future” since about 4 months in.
We have a wedding Pinterest board together, and have talked about rings (at length–that’s another post!). At one point we discussed a timeline of getting married fall of 2013, but I don’t know if he even remembers that conversation. Ha!
I’m officially moving into his house this week. Yay! (Although, this came with a talk about how I had a policy about being engaged before moving in– he knows how much it means to me that I’m making an exception).
We’re both professionals in the arts and don’t make steady incomes, but we do alright. We’re also both (liberal) Christians, and marriage means a lot to both of us. His mom has put a bit of pressure on him to propose to me, as well, to which he replied, “it’s coming! Just wait!”
It’s funny– we’ve already named our future kids, and on at least a weekly basis he very meaningfully calls me “wife” and I call him my “husband.”
So basically, I know it’s headed in that direction, but it’s hard to tell when/ how soon. I’m really excited to be his wife (for real!), but I hope he doesn’t put it off too long! What do you guys think? Am I being delusional for thinking it’s on the horizon?
Thanks for listening! I feel much better now that I’ve officially joined the “waiting” club with a bunch of great peeps like yourselves! 🙂
