3 months left is plenty of time, even though it may not seem like it. I know how frustrating it is to want to set things up, though! If it makes you feel any better, we also have nothing set up/no nursery, and I’m 36 weeks pregnant. We have everything we need (besides the crib) but unfortunately I can’t set anything up because we’re moving next week.

@Sunshine09:  I didn’t put furniture on my registry as I don’t expect anyone besides my parents to contribute such a large gift. Lucky you!

I know the nesting is kicking into high gear, but you don’t NEED anything Besides the basics. I’d say maybe take a few things that you think are essential (like a bassinet) off the registry and purchase yourself. Yes, the idea of the shower is to get gifts, but I think it is fair to assume that you will get a few things yourself! Don’t worry about things like a high chair or that cute playmat- those aren’t things you need immediately.

We didn’t start setting anything up until a month before our due date, and even still with less than 3 weeks to go (or less…) we still have stuff that isn’t done.  I totally get the need to want to have it done ahead of time, but there is so little that your baby will actually NEED immediately, that most of it can wait. And a month is plenty of time (hopefully!)

Hey, wedding date twin. I’m also 3 months from my due date 🙂

This is our second baby and I can tell you that for the first 3 months you don’t really need that much stuff so you can stop worrying about not having anything done. Especially if you’re moving then I wouldn’t stress at all about setting everything up. So long as the baby has you, a bed, clean diapers and a few clothes then it will be a happy baby.

@Sunshine09:  oh you’re fine! nesting is a powerful urge but I’m sure you will get the bassinet and if not a month is plenty of time 🙂

@Sunshine09:  I know how you feel – I’m 3 months out too, and I just want to be DONE! And believe me, I am not a planner/cleaner/organizer, so I know this nesting thing is REAL. I did take my sister’s recomendation by having my shower a bit early – July 27 for my Oct. 6 due date. But, if I weren’t having it this month, I would make a list of the absolute must-haves for an infant, and figure out where and when you’ll get them in a pinch (if baby comes early). As PP said, a lot of shower stuff isn’t wholly necessary until later, and babies can do with a lot less than we think – we just WANT to give them more 🙂

I am due on the 16th (any day really) and I have the clothes washed. Nothing else is done as we just moved to a new place last week. I am expecting the dresser/changing table to be delivered monday. I am not worried. I have the stuff so I am good lol

@Sunshine09:  I’d take a pp’s advice and go and purchase any items you are most concerned about, and take them off the registry.

But then we expect to have to buy all our own big items, gifts would only ever be clothes, toys and books.

Yes, I know how you feel.  I have less than 9 weeks left, so less than 2 months.  I was really freaking out a few weeks ago as we hadn’t bought any baby items yet.  This was about maybe in May or so.  We didn’t even know where we would PUT the baby.  I finally got the nursery sorted out and we started buying the big items we needed/wanted. We just set up the stuff we have this week (I wasn’t sure if we should as I don’t want things getting dusty but I figure we should at least set up the items we’ll use right away to not have to deal with it when baby comes).

The nursery is almost set but I am not worried about it too much… we’re buying things little by little as we go and whatever we don’t get before baby, we’ll get after baby.. we just want to get the things we’ll really need before hand.  My baby shower is also the 27 of this month so we’ll see what small and necessary items we get (diapers, cream, wipes) and then go from there.  As for bigger items, we’re getting those ourselves so we can buy things now and not have to wait for anyone.
