Two of our friends just got engaged, which is amazing and I am now super excited and happy about it but sadly my first reaction was one of bitter jealousy. Never mind, I don't feel like that the day after, and this engagement talk has led SO and I to have a nice productive chat about our own engagement process. Whilst I am sometimes impatient in my waiting, I know in my heart of hearts that the 2014 is the wedding year for us (it'd be so right to have it for our 10th anniversary) and we'd both like to be engaged for about a year and a half. So, my SO has said it won't be long but it will probably be about a year from now. As long as I know, and as long as I have to distract me in the meantime (getting in fit, wedding shape, finding the perfect but affordable ring, finding the perfect but affordable venue, saving up for the wedding and a house), I think I can last 14 months (until my birthday next year) as a lady without a ring. I'm gonna need you bees sometimes, though!
