A few days after our two year anniversary, the SO and I ordered the first of my two engagement rings. Laurie from Amcor Designs (who I cannot rave enough about, she is beyond wonderful) helped me choose a simple cathedral solitaire setting and ordered an Avarra sapphire for the centre stone. She has emailed me the photos to approve before it is shipped and it is gorgeous! I cannot wait to wear it although I know that I won’t actually get it until next year – the SO is determined to propose in Vegas because he wants to make it very special and frankly, with that kind of sentiment behind his thinking, I really don’t mind the wait. It’s just nice to know that he is serious about this and about us.
On a related note, we’re going to start watch shopping tomorrow for his engagement watch – he decided that he wants a Tissot so it’s not just me that gets spoiled.

@Miss Circe: Woohoo! That’s a heck of an update! Congratulations! I can’t wait to see your ring – I’m drooling over an Avarra sapphire, too!

@MissPine: What cut and colour are you thinking of getting?
Ok since I probably will not be able to post pics of the ring on my hand until next year, I can’t resist sharing the photos of the ring AmcorDesign sent me to approve before they shipped it.
Here’s my sapphire darling – or as it will be known “Gryffinclaw” since it’s a blue stone on a yellow gold band (I’m a Harry Potter nerd ) which will later be joined by my second engagement ring to be called “Slytheffindor” (an emerald on a yellow gold band)
And we’ve bought his watch! It’s a Tissot Couturier – my man has excellent taste if I do say so myself.
He’ll be getting his watch after he proposes – which apparently is now making him seriously reconsider his Vegas proposal since it means that he won’t get to wear his watch until then

@flutterbee: Well we had specified a budget that we would spend on each other’s respective engagement presents and the types of stones and settings that I wanted meant that I came way under budget. Now I had a difficult time deciding between a sapphire and an emerald and the SO very kindly said that I didn’t have to choose since he’s able to get me both which was very kind and generous of him.
Oooh one in every colour – now that’s a brilliant idea!
