So the BF and I have been talking about getting engaged, and he said a while back that the idea was before the end of the year, and after he proposes, we would go ring shopping together.
I am going to visit him and go to all his family Christmas functions in a couple weeks, and he wants to stop in a city between his parents’ and mine to ring shop. And just today, he said that he thinks almost every day about how he wants to propose/what he wants to say. Sometimes several times a day, because he doesn’t want to screw it up. My BF is too cute. JS.
I am just too excited to sleep. The ladies over at the Knot are not ever sympathetic about such plights. How are all of you dealing with the anticipation?

We must be twins! I am in the same predicament as you. I know my SO has the ring, and I know it’s definitely going to happen soon because he is coming home for the holidays in 2 weeks!!! At first it was so nerve racking and it was all I could think about, but I don’t want to over think it and ruin it. I am trying to stay as busy as I can and just focus on other things. (AND making sure my nails will be picture perfect the whole time he comes home LOL). We have been in an LDR for almost a year and together for almost 3 so the fact that I even get to see him after months of waiting will be amazing in it’s self. My best advice is to just let it be and when it happens it will happen, this way you won’t drive yourself crazy just thinking about it. AHHHHHH but it’s soo exciting right ?!?! Good Luck!!!

SO EXCITING! My SO said by the end of the year also, and it’s driving me nuts waiting! I am not a patient person, and I hate the anticipation of waiting for something, but I’ve been pretty good about suffering in silence (LOL) when SO is around.
Good luck to you both! Hopefully we won’t have to wait much longer! 🙂

I totally understand your feelings. I know that my bf is going to propose around xmas/new years, possibly right after new years. I can’t sleep. I am having terrible trouble concentrating at work. It’s exciting, but it actually kind of sucks. haha I wish he would have done it before I started losing my mind, and over analyzing everything. The range of emotions I’ve been going through each day is exhausting.
Don’t you want to say I love you, just do it already!? It’s so cute that they want it to be perfect, but we don’t need perfect! We need sleep!

@MissMalibu: I am SO making sure that I look absolutely awesome every day that I spend with him over this Christmas break, nails and all 🙂 I’ve been trying my best to focus on my schoolwork as a distraction, but it is sooo exciting!
@rachy2405: Bahaha yesss!!!! It has made studying for finals/writing all my papers extremely interesting. Gah!
@MissCountryGirl727: I know the feeling. I am not patient AT ALL. I think that is what is making this so hard. I am fairly confident that it is going to happen between the 22nd-26th.
He’s been dropping so many hints lately…even more than when I first posted here. (More deets @: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/finals-and-waiting-do-not-mix)
Thanks for the support, ladies. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one. 😀 Good luck with your own impending engagements!!!
