I noticed on some of the other South Florida posts, people were asking about where to get a wedding dress.
My favorite bridal salon in the Broward/Palm Beach area is Belissima Brides in Deerfield Beach. The sales consultant that I worked with was absolutely amazing. If you want, PM me, and I'll give you the name of my sales consultant and my name as a referral. She was the sweetest person and really knew all of the dresses that she had in the store. She was super patient, and helped me figure out what I liked and what looked best on me.
I also shopped at Boca Bridal, Patricia South and Victoria's. I liked them in that order, after Belissima Brides.
We are planning our South Beach wedding remotely, from the Boston area. I'd really love to hear any DJ, musician, and other entertainment suggestions you might have. Thanks!

I'm also in Boston and planning a South Florida wedding. Not much is planned yet, since because of the number of guests (~150) we have to keep costs very low and I have not been able to find a place!
For dates we are thinking January/February 2010.
Hello! I'm a South Florida bride! I live in South Broward but I'm hoping to move to Davie/West Sunrise at some point. I got engaged in December of 2007 and my wedding is in January of 2010. I've already got my reception site (The Rusty Pelican in Miami, the views are so gorgeous) and I've found a wonderful company for my photo/video/dj (Party Time in Davie), both places have been so nice to me, I'm really happy with that so far. Flowers, transportation, and invitation/stationery are next on my list.
I'm a professional graphic designer & illustrator so I'm really into doing as much of my wedding stuff myself as I can. I can't wait to design my invitations! I wanted to do letterpress but even with doing the design myself it seems a bit too pricey, so I will probably go with silk screen printing instead.
I am working on the wedding gown at the moment and I am really excited about it, I found a fantastic wedding gown designer on Etsy. Previously the dress was REALLY stressing me out but now I feel so much better after talking to her and finding one of her gowns that I love. I tried to find a seamstress/designer here in Florida to work with but I couldn't find ANYONE who did custom gowns! It's crazy. My designer is in Indiana but I'm not worried, she has a ton of wedding gowns posted to choose from and a lot of happy customers in her feedback area. I love etsy!
Anyway I have a lot of questions and I'd also like to post to recommend my vendors, the ones I have are all fantastic (so far!). Looking forward to posting more often!
First, apologies to a couple of hive members that have sent me messages to which I have not replied... I am so sorry! I have less than 4 weeks to go until our wedding day and less than 3 til we set off from England to south beach. miami. So I am a little stressed!
I will list the vendors below that we have decided to go for... This is my dream team!!!

Hi Ladies,
I am a Miami bride planning my wedding from NY. It's in November so the weather should cooperate. My fiance's family is in NY so we planned our wedding around the weather (snow/hurricanes).
Planning remotely has been a bit of a challenge, but definitely doable.
Nice to meet all of you!

I'm a ft. Lauderdale bride and so far this is what I canon tribute:
I ran into the same problem (super high minimums) with the hotels in the Ft. Lauderdale area. The Addison was my dream venue but their minimums were way too high for Feb (even for Oct too ). Either way you should check out Stonebridge Country Club in Boca. The pics online and on their site do NOT do them justice. I'm working with Kim who is a DOLL and they don't have any crazy minimums for months/days and we actually had lunch there when we toured the venue and the food was phenomenal! Their prices are reasonable and they were able to fully customize a menu for me as well. One last thing, I've been going to a lot of bridal shows and meeting with different florists, etc. All of them had nothing but great things to say about Kim at Stonebridge and the service they provide. One vendor actually called the Addison a wedding factory and warned they nickel and dime you for everything!

Hello South Florida brides! This board has been pretty quiet, but I know you are all out there! It would be great if all of the South Florida brides could start posting here-- sharing info about the best flowers, DJ, wedding coordinators, band... etc etc.
So introduce yourself! Tell us who you are, when & where you're having your wedding, and where you're at with the planning process!
I will start. I am getting married on May 9th in Key Largo. I'm actually from the Boca Raton area, and my vendors are spread out throughout South Florida. I've done a lot of vendor research! I have all of my major vendors booked (Venue/Caterer/Cake, Chapel, Ceremony musicians, DJ, Photographer, Videographer, and I'm almost there with the florist). I'm working on my invites right now & I need to order those within the next week *eeek* so that I can send them out the first week of March.
The bridesmaids are done and I've picked out, but haven't purchased, my flower girl dresses.
I do need help in a few areas, so i will be back to ask some questions once you South Florida lovelies come out of the wood work!
Once these major things are done, its onto the details! My wedding is fast approaching... only three months left to tackle my insanely long to-do list!
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-weight: bold"> Speak up, South Florida brides... stop by the Miami & South Florida Board and say hi!
