I did a walk-in when I went there. I had to wait about 30 minutes but it was fine with the staff. They make you fill out paperwork first....definitely put a junk email because they send WAYYYYYY too many emails.
I would try to call first and see if you can get an appointment. It makes things a lot easier. If you can't get one, then just swing by, but don't be surprised if you have to wait.
It's fine, but you might have to wait if it's a busy location. I've done this in Manhattan (waited about 45 min) and CT (didn't have to wait at all).
For a weeknight, you're fine. For a busier time, I'd say make an appointment.
If you're going to do a walk-in (I did), try to do it on a weekday. It's WAY less crowded!
Do a Walkin, or call ahead to make an appointment even if it is the same day.
I tired and there were tons of attendants standing around. I got a dirty look and was told I needed an appointment. I left and never returned.
I called the day of for an appointment. It's easier to do it on a weekday than a weekend I believe. They'll most likely just make you wait if you don't call first and they are already helping someone.
I walked in when I bought my dress, and a couple after that with BM's. I think it's fine.
I was able to call and make an appt for two - three hours later ~ You should be fine though!
I walked in on a Saturday. They were busy but someone helped me right away. About thejunk mail; there is a check box that you can mark to say you don't want too recieve the junk mail or e-mails or phone calls. Make sure you read the fine print and check that. I did recieve one call and I was pretty rude & told them I checked not to call and they apologized and never called again.
i didn't try on bridal gowns, but i did buy a bridesmaid dress for my friends wedding there. the weekday when i went to pick up the dress was EMPTY. the sunday when i went to try the dress on was packed, even an hour before closing. i would just call them and see if you need an appt, before going. doesn't hurt to ask! :-)
I did a walk-in on a Saturday afternoon and was helped right away. I think it just depends on your location and the proximity of other bridal stores as to how busy your location will be.
Also seconding the "put a junk email address" thing. I had to yell at them to get them to stop "following up", even when I repeatedly told them I had already bought my dress somewhere else.
I think it depends on where the store is located and what your goal is. If you just want to browse, I'm sure they would be fine with it. I have done both (walked in and made an apponitment and called ahead). My best experience was when I called ahead and said that I would not need any help, and they gave me a room and left me alone. It was awesome. Also, like PP said, be sure to read and to indicate you don't want to be contacted. I bought my dress there and have never received any phone calls or e-mails from other places. I definitely do not feel harrassed or anything.
If you already went, how was it?

Random question - I have some free time this afternoon/evening and was thinking of swinging by a local David's Bridal to try on some gowns by myself. Is this totally inappropriate since I don't have an appointment?
