I guess that’s my question.
This song that is driving me bnuts has just driven me further away… does THE song play then the bm’s start walking OR
do the bm’s walk to a different tune, then THE song starts & the bride walks down.
I have no idea… does it even matter??

Whatever you want to do. Certainly from reading here it is common to have a different tune for the bride.
Another alternative: here in Australia, and certainly in my circles, it is common for the bride to walk down first. (That’s also the UK tradition, if the William/Kate wedding is anything to go by). That kind of eliminates the problem because the music starts when the bride walks down, and the bridesmaids follow her to the same tune.

Our parents & bridal party had a song, then my groom had his special entrance with his own song, then my song came on.

@Nic01: Any way you want it. That’s the way you need it. Any way you want it.

I think it depends on what you want. Most weddings I have been to the bridesmaids had a separate song….but, our wedding we all walked down to the same song. Our musicians played it instrumental while my ring bearers/flower girl and jr. bridesmaids walked down and then began singing the song when I walked down.

@Duncan: i like that 😉
I’ve just decided it will be the same song. Less headaches for the programs !!

I’m doing one song for all of us. Nothing else sounded right to play before my song, so I figured.. why not? Plus, I only have two people walking before me, so it’s not that big of a deal.

I just used one song for twe entire bridal party, but (a) out wedding was relatively small and low key and (b) I did not especially want to be the center of attention so I didn’t want to use a change in music to mark my arrival.
