nice or___ you fill in the blank
Im on the vampire wagon! and semi proud of it?? only because I like this song? and maybe the edward cullen character is hot.... slim maybe...
Believe it or not, I like this song to , WALK DOWN THE AISLE TOO! thats right.. you heard me.. walk down the aisle too a score from twilight? Am I crazy? or could this just work?
i was watching this weekend and totally thought of that!!! so beautiful. if i hadnt picked something different.. i say go for it. although im playing it now and FI just said "what is this?" I said "why? do you like it?" He didnt really answer me so when i told him he just shook his head. I see nothing wrong with it but hes a hater ;)
Absolutely beautiful... I think it would be perfect!
<3
would it be horrible of me to do this lol!! the winery we are having our wedding at already has an Eclipse wine....it's quite a beautiful song though...perhaps using it for the processional?
... alright, I'm going to have to be the dissenter. This vampire thing is a total fad (or at least I hope it is because all the ones I've looked at are so terribly written it hurts). In 20 years, are you going to be okay with the fact that you walked down the aisle to a movie theme based on a book for 13 year olds? Or is there the chance that you would regret doing it and wish you had gone for something a little more classic?
That being said, I just listened to it and it is a gorgeous song. Someone hired some pretty outstanding composers. But still. 13 year old movie. With vampires.
Since you already are into vampires, etc. then I think it'd be perfect for you! It is a very elegant type of music & I think it'd go well for walking down the aisle to!!
It's a beautiful song and no one is going to notice it's from twilight. Go for it.
I'm with KMSull, it's a little trendy. It also seems like you're a little embarrassed/second-guessing yourself in your post, and I feel like you'd need to be 100% confident to go with such an unusual choice. Also, some of your guests will probably recognize it, which is fine if you're 100% sure of it, but if you're already a little uncertain and somebody's like "Why did you do THAT?" it might feel a little uncomfortable.
I liked Twilight, but I'm more of a Buffy fan, and I had a huge crush on Angel - and the biggest reason I wouldn't walk down the aisle to the Buffy/Angel theme is because it makes me think "OMG Angel is so hot!" Not the thought I would want in my head as I walk toward my future husband ;-)
Im not really into the whole vampire thing, believe it or not but i actually bought the soundtrack before watching the vampire movie.. I just really like the score. What im worried about it is that someone finds out its from twilight and thinks im a totally wierd for playing it? But I like the idea that is a little differant and its not the whole totally traditional canon in d or the wedding march, back in the dark ages classical (sorry if there are any diehard classical fans here) , We are being married in a garden, so its not a church theme.
Its got such a great melody.. its a top contender.. But im on the fence atm.
Thanks for the input girls!
If anyone recognizes that it is from Twilight, I think it will not go across well. It may be a really pretty song, but thats a bit morbid don't you think?
I think that it is beautiful, vampire movie or not. I am not obsessed, but I actually liked the Twilight books and I am 28! =) No one is going to know that it is off of Twilight, and who cares if they do. People use songs at there wedding that have been on tons of movies all of the time. I say go for it if you like it!
If you love it then go for it. Most people aren't familiar enough with the music to make any connection, regardless of how they feel about the films themselves.
Umm, I don't know the song and maybe it is really pretty, but so is the love theme from Star Wars. Would you walk down the aisle to that?
I should say, I am walking down the aisle to a song from a movie, Lara's Theme from Dr. Zhivago. The difference is that the song is a world-recognizable love song and the movie isn't a fad.
But, I wouldn't recognize the song, personally, so there is one less person who would tsk tsk you.
I considered that song, although it's not actually in the movie. My bridesmaids are walking down the aisle to flightless bird, american mouth from the prom scene.
personally, I think that if both you and your fi are both on board (and in love with) the same idea, it shouldn't matter what your guests think. I mean, maybe for food choices or something that might affect them, but music? all yours.
I think I must agree with monitajb a lot, and I'm going to again! I don't think it's wise--like it was said, it's a fad, and one that's been huge. Sure, some of your guests will have no idea, but it is like walking down to a star wars or titanic or whatever else song.
However, if I were in your shoes and I wanted the song, I'd just be like, SCREW IT I'm walking to it!
What does your FI think?
FI goes.. whatever you want.. as long as you just rock up to get married.. I assured him since that I bought the dress I would...
He had the say on the signing of the register and he chose it himself

Im looking at other possibilites, if anyone has a suggestion? that would be great!
Honestly, the only people who will notice it is from Twilight are hardcore Twilight fans. Or people like yourself, who just really like the song and know where its from. I say go for it! I am walking the aisle to a song from a video game. I know that no one will notice, and if they do only b/c they are hardcore fans of the game. But I really don't care it is composed beautifully and makes me all happy and giddy when I hear it.
This is advice my mom gave me.
Go sit in your room. Get comfertable, play the music semi loud, so you can't hear anything else. Close your eyes and imagine walking down the aisle to your FH. Do you feel right, does it move you? Do you get all floaty and teary eyed? Do you get really excited and want to jump up and down. Then that is the song for you. If you feel weird and akward, or if feels not right, slow, moody whatever. Then choose another. This helped me out a lot! And I hope it does for you too!
i thought about the "its a fad" thing.. but i am walking down the aisle to Bright Eyes "this is the first day of my life" and bridal party and FI are walking down to Ben Folds "luckiest" so we are def not going traditional (nor would i EVER want to go traditional). My wedding is about US and not what we are "supposed" to do. We are unique and thats what I love about it.
I think you should go with it. I did ask my FI why he shook his head and his feeling was that all it takes for one person to recognize it, then everyone would know where is was from and people would laugh about it... I know NONE of MY friends would laugh, they would think it was great.. Do what is right for you guys.. as long as you know that looking back you will still be happy with it..
Ummm I think that's a great idea!
I'm a huge fan of the books though, and I'm also 24. Vampires or no vampires, it's a love story. So I think it's appropriate :)
I actually used bellas lullabye as the music for my mothers and grandmothers to walk down to, it is very pretty and me and my mom both love twilight so it went well. My husband thought I was crazy but what does he know? lol
It's your wedding. Do whatever you want, girl!
(I must admit that it pains me to say that because I absolutely HATE Twilight and anything Twilight-related with the fire of a thousand suns and anything to do with it. But I don't judge others who like it)
I didn't even recognize it from the movie and I love the movie (obviously not as much as some haha) I doubt anyone will know you even got it from the move I say go for it it's so pretty!
@ danadelphia. LOL, how do you really feel?
My reaction has nothing to do with Twilight. I would feel exactly the same way if it were a song from Sailor Moon, or Avatar, or Star Terk, or a video game, or Chris Brown, or anything else that is popular RIGHT NOW. Do you really want to tie your eternal moment to a pop culture moment?
If the answer is yes, well, there you go.
I'm not a Twilight person, so if I attended a wedding with this song, I would have never thought it was from that. It's a pretty song, I say, go for it.
I love the Twilight soundtrack and of course I love the movies! I think this is a great melody and if anyone recognizes it they are probably hard core Twilight lovers and I think they would think its pretty cool that you used this song. If you and FI want it who cares what everybody else thinks. There are tons of songs out there that became popular from movies and now people want to use them as their first songs. Just because Twilight doesnt fit everybody elses taste doesnt mean you have to embarassed if you want to use it. I would definitely agree with Teaserama's advice if it gets you all teary eyed then thats the song. :)
@KMSull - good, and LOL points.
that said, i had no idea what twilight's music was like, and this is very pretty. =)
I think it's a beautiful song, and most guests won't realize what it's from. I say go for it!
I think you should go for it ... and I am a total music idea thief so I am emailing the youtube link to our ceremony violinist, and asking if she could do it ...
I don't have anything to add to what KMSull said, other than agreement. Well, maybe the fact that ten years ago I'd probably have chosen the Titanic song for our wedding and looking back on it now that would be no small "Oh, BARF" moment.
Lol Miss Mini.
Im glad you like it. I sent the track to my dad last night, and got a reply this morning ... and he likes it.. :D.
Thanks for the input, its great to see some very honest responses. :) can always count on WB.
I think it will stay at the top of the list until something better comes along between now and august. If its still at the top of the list I will use it.
Beachfanatic, thanks for the advice :)
well technically this song was around wayyy before twilight - it's originally written by Yiruma, and was chosen by fans to be Bellas Lullaby, but it's not actually in the movie (as far as i remember).
that being said some friends of mine had it at their wedding as preceremony music and it was beautiful. Yiruma is so talented, and pretty much any of his songs would work!
I was just going to post was ceamoste said - Yiruma is a Korean pianist who wrote this song in 2001 - long before Twilight hit the scenes. This song wasn't even in the movie. This song is actually more common than you might think at weddings, and was definitely around before Twilight. Regardless, the piece is beautiful! If it makes you think of Twilight, that can be a private thought for you. It is highly unlikely others will recognize it. And when listing the music, you simply have to credit Yiruma - don't make any mention of Twilight.

I dont feel bad at all for wanting to use this song now... Twilight schmilight... the song is good!
Glad you came to a decision...the song is very simple and pretty, good for walking down the aisle, I think. I personally hate the whole vampire/Twilight craze, but I can totally understand why you'd want to use this, and as several posters mentioned, the only ones who will notice are people who are into Twilight anyway. Go you!
This is a beautiful song, with Edward Cullen or not. It's just simply beautiful. Walk down the aisle to it if you think it will remind you of your wedding, not that gorgeous sparkly hunk (;
that is the song im walking down to too!! go for it girl! and its not from twilight.. it just says it is.. yiruma wrote it forever ago. but its a b e a u t i f u l song and i dont think theres any better piano song personally. go for it!!
song twin!
Dont worry Ill be thinking about my hunk when im walking down that aisle muffins, I think hes a little hotter than edward :P haha
