My fiance’s favorite song is “Comfortably Numb” by Pink Floyd. He loves it so much he said he wishes it could be our first dance but he thinks it would be a little strange. I don’t really want it to be our first dance either but I found a really beautiful version of it by the string quartet. I was thinking of suprising him by walking down the aisle to it. However, comfortably numb is not how I want to be thought of or feeling on my wedding day. What do you ladies think?

The music for the walk down the aisle should be something you as the bride love. Is there anywhere else at the wedding it can be played? During the reception but not as the first dance?
However, if you love the instrumental, then by all means use it. Guests are not nitpicky when it comes to lyrics (especially when they aren;t even there in an instrumental, for example, regardless of the title) and don’t care either way as long as it isn’t entirely offensive. No matter what, the music should reflect what you and your fiance love. No one will think it’s weird at all.

Check out The Vitamin String Quartet’s version:
I think it would be awesome! I personally want to want down to the Vitamin String Quartet’s version of “Bittersweet Symphony” which is kinda ironic but I just love the instrumental part! 🙂

I think this may be a little dark for walking down the aisle. The instrumental is much prettier than the original but it is still instantly recognizable as Comfortably Numb, and if I were a guest I would not be able to get certain scenes from The Wall out of my head. And those are not images you want your guests to have.

I think if you like the song and your Fiance loves it then why not. I would be happy if my Fiance showed any interest in what song to use.

Agreeing with fishbone. This music is pretty dark. You could use just the peppier, upbeat section… perhaps have the musicians start there.

I love that song, but the first thing that popped in my head when imagining a bride walking down the aisle to it is that she isn’t happy with her soon to be marriage but will deal with it anyway. But its your and your FI’s day, it’s all about you guys and if that song will make YOU TWO happy, then guests be damned 🙂
